    What's in your cabinet?

Your medicine cabinet that is. The Great Depression of 1930s had a major difference compared to the economic downturn we are currently experiencing. Pharmaceutical sales have increased at a rate of 12-15% yearly for several years. Of 2.4 billion prescriptions 118 million were for anti depressants. The best data I could find compared 1995 to 2002 in a CDC report... antidepressant use went up 48%.

Do any of you feel the use of anti depressants has had any impact on our nations risk awareness and this economy?

I'm glad I don't partake in any of that stuff. I bet it would be nice to be numb from the drama around us a bit. But, then I wouldn't be able to be prepared for it, and I'd just crawl into a hole and die like many will.

I have half a stick of Xanax that a guy I met on a plane insisted that I take from him. I don't know why I keep it around.
