The Chinese made the investment in CNC machines and I have seen the result in Model kits being very precisely molded. I know they didn't make that investment just for the sake of models. I was telling that to a friend I worked with a few years ago.
IIRC it was about a year before the Chinese shot down that sattelite. Now that takes some doing.Comment

yup they used a land based ICBM to do so. 1 month latter we shot one down with a modified cruise missile launched from a Destroyer in the pacific. Just to put them back in their place, they have a long way to go. All they are good it copying and ripping off others design's just like the Russians Kinda odd both are commie/former commies.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

reading about china sometimes boggles my mind.
At Foxconn, the basic salary for an assembly line worker in Shenzhen is expected to jump from 900 renminbi a month to 1,200 renminbi, or $132 to $176. The minimum monthly wage in Shenzhen is 900 renminbi, or about 83 cents per hour.
Is that whole population in poverty or is the exchange rate THAT far off??sigpic

That is after a 33% raise!! how do these people afford ANYTHING? I spend that much just to get to work!

You cant compare what wages are there to what they can buy here.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

Rule number 1. Just because that does not buy anything here in our economy DOES NOT MEAN ITS CRAP WAGES IN THEIR ECONOMY. Those are middle class wages in China, and GOOD JOBS, thats why they have people fighting over them.
You cant compare what wages are there to what they can buy here.
I think this happens in virtually every country. I don't know how we determine exchange rates but it obviously is not grounded in reality.sigpic

This move basically shocked many manufacturing in China and Chinese government. As they will be forced to provide similar salary. There will also be good chance to have big inflation in China.
This is why RMB rate will soon get adjusted.Comment

I read somewhere (IIRC, Forbes) that India is also in a position to take a shot at America's manufacturing title. The difference is that China is stuck with old smoke stack type manufacturing with a very low-skilled work force while India is moving towards more high end manufacturing. China has a lot of populace to throw at the grinder of "progress" though.Need a part? PM me.

You can thank Bill and Hilary for allowing them into our bed. They will steal us blind on anything they can make a profit on. The USSR had an awesome humint network that garnered any info to their war machine and continue to do so.
