Um, she is a moron but that one isnt as cut and dry. She says that unemployment insurance is the biggest stimulus because people spend it immediately. While I dont agree with the statement it doesnt have much to do with the headline.Im now E30less.

She does have a point that its spent immediately, but I don't know about being the biggest stimulus... Its this one that really perplexes me. "it creates jobs faster than most any other initiative you can name"

Even if she was talking about the economy it's a ridiculous idea. It's borrowed money. Giving people money to spend does not change the fact many businesses are hurting to the point they can't hire more people. People are using this money to buy the basics (minus Cali of course), food, rent etc. And it does absolutely nothing to get people back to work.
It's the businesses that need focus not the people.

This reminds me of those $500 stimulus checks they passed out back in GWB's term, they did pretty much nothing except help people get caught up on bills. Katrina's double gas prices helped blunt off any measurable effect that they might have had.
Except that it was called a stimulus bill and you didn't need to lose your job to get it.
