I was thinking that as I wrote what I did, but what I'm implying is there is no "I know more about being mixed that you..." ability on either side, and bringing it up just continues the rift between "races" of human beings.Comment

I think you are little sensitive and making a controversy where one does not exist. You usually bring up some valid points and I enjoy our little debates, I just feel there is nothing here and there are soooooo many other things you could actually be upset with, but I think this is an ivalid pursuit. But I have the day off today and will debate it as long as you like ;)Brian JacobsComment

Now that we have it clear that everyone is allowed to be genetically diverse, I'd like to point out that European subregions are less genetically diverse than African subregions, because people have inhabited Europe for less time. The notion of current countries as a source of genetic diversity is relatively pointless, because borders were liquid up until extremely recently in terms of genetic drift and variation.
Speaking about topics like this in a "us vs. them" mindset is dangerously short-sighted. Being white (or African, or any nationality, race, anything) does not earn the privilege of speaking authoritatively for white people (or whoever else) as a whole.
In short, yes, Obama's statement was pretty boneheaded, but it was a (technically, but subtly) true statement, and some of the responses it gathered here were equally boneheaded without the benefit of also being (technically) true. C'est la vie.Comment

The problem here is that he's generalizing about both whites and blacks. It's just not true that all are that way. It's just a retarded thing to bring up that way.
If he had said it doesn't matter who or what you are...blah blah blah. Then he would have said something that means something.
And just because there are different countries does not mean the people are different.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
