Did you read the Snopes link?
It says the article is "Correctly Attributed". Which means "Yes. Wayne Allyn Root wrote it."
That still doesn't necessarily mean a word of it is true. See the difference?
ck_taft325is:
Really? The lobbyists for the NAACP, ACORN (which no longer exists in any significant form) and the unions (Which unions? They aren't the Borg) are worse than the lobbyists that continually thwart tort reform, continually prevent Wall Street from being accountable, not to mention big pharma, big oil, etc?
I find that hard to swallow. But you did hit upon one of my pet peeves about government-the big-money lobbyists. It would please me greatly to see them banned from colluding with OUR representatives. Nothing, in my opinion, would go further toward restoring a little faith in the political process in this country than to see the lobbyists gone.

^^^ Point is, misinformation like the horseshit in the first post runs rampant and you guys lick it up like dogs lick up antifreeze.
Joshh, I suppose if the moment O took office he shut off the bailout tap, many would be screaming about how he left all those people high and dry and was trying to re-engineer society by causing mass bankruptcies and was killing businesses. Would the Tea Party now be crying about their grannies who can't get their meds because mean ol' B. Hussein O. shut 'em off? How about the trailer trash Palin t-shirt wearers whose kids enjoy free lunches at school? No more free lunch kiddies-BHO hates you. And on and on.....
Lastly, every, and I mean EVERY administration has had its detractors. BHO has how many months left before he's gone? Then we'll get to watch the other guys fall all over themselves and perform the same corporate dick sucking that's been going on for over 100 years. Their lobbyists will get what they want, and around we'll go again.
Well you're completely correct about the fact that any President will have haters. No matter what. You will not make everyone happy.
It's not so much that we needed the bailout, it's how the money was spent (what has actually been spent anyways). GM is trying to butt fuck Americans by saying they have they're bailout money paid back...it's a flat out lie. And I guarantee you Obama is behind that as well considering his boy runs GM now.
But the real problem is that Obama has not AT ALL been what he said he was going to be. It's not a shock to those of us who already knew where this guy came from and what he wants to do.
Obama is more about PR and control than any other President I know of (minus Nixon). But thankfully we can see where his policies are leading this country. Not surprising since many of us understand what he believes in.
America was founded on hard work, not bailouts or forced charity. Only one word will save this country, Responsibility.
The beginning of the end of this great country started when we started using tax payer money for people's personal problems. This was also the real beginning of when families no longer needed to care or treat each other like a family. What's the need to take care of your family when the Government will take care of you?
Medicare, Medicaid, and so many other Government funded programs are against what our founding fathers wanted. But hey what slack irresponsible lazy twat is going to turn down tax payer money to help them live? And Progressives want to pander to these types, justifying why they are in need of help from the Government. POOR FUCKERS LOOK WHAT BIG BUSINESS DID TO THEM!!! POOR FUCKERS THEY WERE BORN IN A POOR FAMILY IN THE GHETTO OR WHITE TRASH VILLE, THEY NEED HELP!!!! POOR FUCKERS HAVE 10 KIDS AND NO JOB (because they have 10 kids) THEY NEED HELP!!!!
Well how do we help them?? I have an idea, let's start taxing Americans more and use their money for everyone else. BRILLIANT!!!!
Now we can pander to the lazy irresponsible twats that refuse to do anything for themselves. YEEEHAAAA!!!
Progressives think people are born victims. Conservatives thing people are born with a choice to make their own lives better.
Granted there are many people that really do need help, but they are truly unable to care for themselves. And that's why family is so important. Yet Americas families are being torn apart by politics.
There is one main reason I didn't have more than one child, I couldn't afford to have more.
To this day I have never been on Unemployment, food stamps or anything even though I have a disability. Because I'm unwilling to use someone else's money for my problems.Leave a comment:

You make a pretty big assumption and generalization of nearly everyone on a regular basis. You sure you're not affiliated with a Religion of any sorts? You're quite religious (in case you missed what I was getting at).
Yeah, a lot of people would be screaming about programs being shut down. Most of all, his own party.
The worst lobbyists out there are for organizations like Acorn, NAACP, Unions and the list goes on. Most of whom Obama is all for un-equivocally. While the next guy might trip all over himself trying to run this country, there will always be unhappy people. You can't stop that from happening. What the majority of the PEOPLE in this country are against, is watching their freedom, rights and way of life be obliterated under the cover of feel-good lies. Most of which the PEOPLE of this country are not falling for. There are some that can be won with platitudes of "Down with the man"-esce speeches, but in general those that wish to live and let live without the Nanny-state are un-convinced. We simply want civil servants willing to call off the taxation and heavy burden the current administration would lay upon the shoulders of it's charge and their children. My children. Your children. We can both agree I think that the way things are, where and are headed towards, is unacceptable. Something that will come to a messy head where good men and women will be caught in the political and social cross-fire. Regardless of opinions that stray into how we, each of us, lives our own convictions, can we see where the other is coming from or at the very least show a mediocrum of respect? I think we can. This administration and it's debates are not one of political party lines. This is Constitutional awareness. Something each and every single person in this country should agree upon. Our integrity and freedom are being sold cheaply for ideals that are tired and under the base assumption that if tried again, harder, with more money and more livelihoods at stake, it will work itself out and be shown to be right.
The basic understanding that we all have human rights and to not let those rights and freedoms be paraded around as a political center piece for any given "crusade" against others will be a turning point for this country.Leave a comment:

Josh already asked the pertinent question.
Now, Mar1, what exactly is your point? Or as usual you're just here for the shit talk and then bail on answering any questions?Leave a comment:

Well we wouldn't want silly ol' facts to muddy up a good rant...
You know....facts like AIG or all these other banks weren't bailed out by BHO, but by a bunch of Republicans.
Here's a well-written article that may help explain some of the hysteria surrounding this topic.
Edit: and the Snopes thing just says that this opinion piece is correctly attributed to Root, not that any of it is true.
Wait so one man's Socialism justifies another man's Socialism?
And I have to point out to you that Obama has INCREASED the original amount and debt beyond what Bush and the evil Republicans asked for? As usual.....
You guys are just blind fools who refuse to look at the facts of Obama's background.Leave a comment:

Yeah. They called Bush a socialist, too.
And Clinton.
And Reagan.
“Government bailouts and takeovers are nothing new,” pointed out financial advisor Ric Edelman.
He cited the following: “In 1971, Richard Nixon rescued Lockheed by providing $250 million in loan guarantees. When the Penn Central Rail-road failed in 1971, Nixon created Am-trak. Jimmy Carter gave $1.5 billion in loan guarantees to Chrysler in 1979. Under Ronald Reagan, the FDIC in 1984 spent $4.5 billion to rescue Continental Illinois, which still holds the record as the largest U.S. bank failure. Then, during the S&L crisis of the 1980s, George H. W. Bush approved the bailout of 747 savings and loans at a cost to taxpayers of $124.6 billion. In 1998, under Bill Clinton, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York bailed out Long Term Capital Management at a cost of $3.6 billion. During the Mexican Peso Crisis, Clinton arranged for loans and guarantees to Mexico totaling almost $50 billion. Then, following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, George W. Bush approved $15 billion in subsidies and loan guarantees to aid the faltering airline industry. This year, the Federal Reserve approved a $30 billion credit line to help JP Morgan Chase acquire Bear Stearns and engineered takeovers of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and AIG. The names, dates and amounts are different, but that’s about it.” In fact, however, the massive scope and price tag made this plan far different. Many conservative members of Congress called it socialism.Leave a comment:

So GWB didn't say "our entire economy is in danger," as he urged a Democratic Congress to approve his administration's $700 billion bailout proposal? He repeatedly vowed to get his Wall Street rescue plan through Congress. Remember this "explanation"?
And all those Republicans voted for it for what reason precisely?
Of course, as soon as BHO was elected, the very same Repubs screamed about how irresponsible the bailout was as if he had both authored and authorized the whole damn thing.Last edited by mar1t1me; 07-31-2010, 07:38 PM.Leave a comment:

Yeah and nobody thought socialism or communism was full steam ahead for us. Oh wait the government conrols over 70% of the economy now. At what point does it become a dictatorship? I'm just saying......Leave a comment:
