Oh boy Aloex jones is out there. I have not watched this one yet, dont know if I will or not.

Yes Constitution is awesome, or govt sucks. Its sucks because we/and out parents/ grand parents/ and even further back than that have let it come to this. Many of us Americans for generations have forgotten what it means to be an American and just have taken our liberties for granted.

The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground. – Thomas Jefferson

Our founders knew this, form the study of the past, and it has been proven continually since the birth of the USA in nearly every other country in the world including our own. This is why we have the Constitution, but its of little meaning to those that govern this land they see it a a road block to their agenda and has been this way since turn of the last century.

As to the lesser of 2 evils, is didnt matter in 08, they both are progressives, same goal and agenda, just different brand names, Like a GMC/Chevy truck, while they look different on the out side, they are fundamentally the same in construction and its just a matter of which looks the best to you. As to 0/Mac its the speed at which we are going down this track is all the differance there is, 0 is balls to the wall, foot to the floor, pin it to win it, I am tired of waiting get er done. (but what you expect from the son of 2 avowed marxist commies from the 60's) Mac is slow and steady wins the race. With mac we would have more time to see this and wake up and stop some of this........ maybe.

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. - Norman Thomas (six-time U.S. Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America)

We will bury you without firing a shot- nikita kurschev

Charlie, why do you continue to just take potshots at others while hiding your own views?

            Just curious.

Hehehe, I'm a city boy with no delusions of working 80 hours a week to barely get by.

All I want is less gov't involvement in my life. I don't think it's gov'ts job to legislate morality (beyone murder/rape/etc) and I think we need lower taxes on individuals and corporations.

Sorry when I said morality I meant things like gay marriage.

I definitely think there needs to be restrictions/standards on certain things (I'm no Anarchist), but not to the point of being burdensome or legislating for the sake of it.

Very small personal example, I write Tech Manuals for Switchboard/Power distribution equipment on Navy ships. The Navy/Army has gone WAY OVERBOARD on the whole safety issue.

I mean, should I really have to write a 3 page report telling someone in the Armed Forces that if they close a door on their hand it may injure them? Or that running the arm into the corner of a sharp panel may cut them?

Isn't that common sense? How can you be at least 18 years old and gotten into the military and NOT know things like that?

That's lawyers and insurance companies that overcomplicate all that. We're in total agreement that verbosity (is that a word? lol) of that nature is just stupid.

I agree with you on your more specific definition of "morality" as well.

In regards to fraud and safety concerns, profit can be, and usually is, a wonderful motivator for innovation. However, history has shown us again and again, that greed will cause people to do some pretty horrible things. I'm all about balanced regulation.

That's not what is being said. Profit motive is fine, but it's not perfect. In many cases it completely ignores the safety and well being of workers and human lives, it also tends to ignore the environment. What we need is just enough regulation to hold corporations adequately responsible for human and environmental exploitation. When we do this, they will keep themselves in check for the most part. An example of unnecessary regulation would be forcing banks to loan to individuals whom would otherwise be considered high risk. Do you see the difference?
