We don't need no stinkin' protection!

I'm at a loss here, our huge network of "antenna's" criss-crossing our country puts our infrastructure at a protection disadvantage. With the high solar activity we are going into for the next ~24 months, this should have passed, and furthermore, should have been put into effect 10 years ago.

I know I bitch about our government a lot, but this IS one of their jobs, protecting the country on it's borders, areas that cannot be defended by individuals.

Not trying to sound like a tin-foil-hatter, but with as much as we survive on the 1's and 0's that control our daily life, I thought we'd have come up with better protections.

How weird. I guess the US wasn't too big to fail via EMP :) Oh wait all their plans point towards US destruction. Hey is it possible that the US government is one giant EMP blast? Oh look you got a new sig. Hey is it narcisistic if you have to write your own username in your sig?

^Actually if you look, Obama increased the Defense budget last year, but moved around priorities.

And the article itself said it was the Senate that dropped it, after being approved by the House. So how is that the House's and Obama's fault again?

Not that I like them, but blind partisanship is just as bad.

Sounds like hysteria to me. How does an Emp affect food and transportation. Lot's of delivery trucks still use mechanical fuel injection and a device has to be on to be effected according to my knowledge.

                ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

EMP would fuck up power generation and infrastructure, and unless you have a diesel truck thats no newer that the early 90's then you may have have Mech injection still. But 90%+ of all the trucking industry are electronically controlled as is farm equipment unless its really old.
