Europe is still VERY touchy about this. In Germany it is censored to speak of any Nazi happenings, even the names of camps and things. They want to bury it.
Anyone who's tried to fire up Rockband and name the band Auschwitz would realize how crazy the worldwide filter is. Not that we tried that or anything.. :hitler:

thats bull shit. people talk about nazi shit all the time in germany. maybe the old people dont because it is painful for them. i was born in germany and have lives their for years and i have talked about ww2 with many people openly with out it being weird. it is however considered weird to be over nationalistic.Europe is still VERY touchy about this. if anything germans do the opposite of berrying it. all german schools take class trips to Auschwitz-Birkenau and other camps to learn about the horrible things that happened there so they are aware of the things humans can do to each other.
i dont see americans doing that with old slave camps or any of the old camps we kept southern soldiers in during the civil war... i bet you dont know what Andersonville was...
we could all learn from our past.sigpic

You're stretching by saying "still". Money was made back then. BMW was formed in 1916. No doubt Günther Quandt was a Nazi. But at what point do you let a company go from it's past? Gunther died in 1954.
You could say the same about Mitsubishi.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

That's just not true. Here in germany people don't try to bury those things but they try to prevent any glorification of the nazi time. The way this time is treated in history lessons for example is much better than in other countries here in europe were wars are still glorified ...Europe is still VERY touchy about this. In Germany it is censored to speak of any Nazi happenings, even the names of camps and things. They want to bury it.

Oh and of course there are neo nazis in germany like in many other countries of the world. But they are a very very small minority. In my whole life here in germany I have seen a few "real" neo nazis. It's not like everybody is running arround shouting parols and wearing uniforms like some people think. You'll see a lot more neonazis in other countries. The neo-nazi political parties don't have any influence (except in some communities in east germany) here. Germany has changed in the past 60 years ... many people have realised it ... some did not ...
Oh and Haider wasn't a german ...Last edited by Fast325i; 08-17-2010, 04:36 AM.Comment
