The very fact that some misguided people in this country feel that they should be apologetic for being American is fucking insanity. Then, to go further and propogate the illusion that being an American is wrong or makes "others" feel uncomfortable is laughable.
That these same individuals are in anyway associated with children makes me squimish.

And in the great town of Amherst businesses were forbidden to fly flags in the days immediately after September 11th, for similar reasons. Hell it was recently decided that Springfield fire apparatus may no longer fly flags in the rears.
I witnessed a group of 3 girls snap the flag off of my car and proceed to tear it to pieces in the parking lot at UMass. But get this, after I showed up and started yelling at them they locked themselves in their car and called the police saying I was "verbally harassing" them. Driver left her window cracked and I sent a good few seconds of urine her way.
