    Obama's New Deals

So, the Administration has not yet released the package of new moves, but will this week. At the top is a $50b "Infrastructure" plan with 150,000 miles of road overhauls, 4,000 miles of rail, and 150 miles of runways.

This is stated to be paid for by closing oil and gas tax credits, and credits multinational corporations now have.

And, those tax dollars will be funneled into a new "Infrastructure" Bank, of which details will also be released this week.

Also, I thought I'd share a small excerpt from our favorite online resource, Wikipedia.

The programs were responses to ..., and focused on what historians call the "3 Rs": relief, recovery and reform. That is, relief for the unemployed and poor; recovery of the economy to normal levels; and reform of the financial system to prevent a repeat depression.
^ This is in reference to the Great Depression, and the government's solution of the New Deal. Now, is it just me, or, is history repeating itself?

I'll be sure to update this when the new announcements are made.

Just waiting for them to claim another ridiculous amount of "new jobs" created.

Infrastructure is one of the few things that I think that the government does right, but right now is not the right time, and the way that they go about it is all wrong.

Why can't they see that the main problem to growth is uncertainty?

Are the tax cuts going to be reinstated? How much is the HEalthcare plan really going to cost? How much more in taxes will people pay because of that?

well right is not really the word I would use but it is done here better than most other places in the world and much of the rest of the modern word has modeled our system to some degree or another.

But Right is not just how I would term it, Look at the privately operated toll roads, they are in WAY better shape than much of the other HWY system, make a profit for the owners and yeah they suck and I hate them (OH turnpike) but its a good example of how Private over public systems are way more efficnt with money.

The real issue is when you lease out public funded via tax dollars infrastructure and then have to pay a toll ever time you use it, or if your town leases out your water or sewer system then you are subject to the rate hikes of a ton more frequently and of greater amounts. Its one of those dammed if you do dammed if you dont things.

Oh and 150k mikes of road will not make that many jobs, as you may have 10 guys do a 100m in worth of work in 8 months. When you are talking about roads, water and sewer systems on big ass federal projects labor is not that much as opposed to materials.

I'm waiting in the wings for the next announcement. I predict it will be totally ludicrous and loathed by the majority yet again.

HAHA infrastructure! Giving money to those jobs is pointless and always has been because they are temporary jobs.

BTW, the plan for the mid-terms is that if you vote against the Dems, you are a racist.

The MSM is repeating the narrative being spread by the likes of Cynthia Tucker.

No, they are not questioning her on it, they are parroting it.
