We have been flying drones into Pakistan and even done some bombings if I remember correctly.

Pakistan closed down a supply route into Afghanistan as a result.

And the US is soon going to loose Pakistan as an allied. The religious movement is getting too strong there. If Benazir Bhutto hadn't been assassinated in December 2007, there would have been a possibility that Pakistan escaped the religious endoctrinement and the control of the current dictator, Pervez Musharraf. Actually, the movement to elect Benazir Bhutto was very strong. Hence her assassination.

Yes. The leader of a Muslim country could have been a woman. And she was hot.

I've believed this for some time now. Just didn't know which country he was in.
But it really doesn't matter all that much because even if we take the guy out it's not like terrorism will come to a screeching halt. Although I'd love to see him die.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. It's generally accepted that some elements within the Pakistani Security Forces are helping al-Qaeda fighters in the border regions. Unfortunately our relationship with Pakistan is a double-edged sword. We are dependent on them (especially for logistics) at the same time they hurt out efforts against al-Qaeda.

I always thought he may have run off to hide with some drug kingpin in Columbia or something like a lot of the Nazis did post-WWII

I always get a kick out of this stuff. A "leaked" White House report claiming to know where he is? Yeah right ok. This all sounds legit. Pakistan and Iran are on the list of terrorist havens so why not say he is in either of those countries.

The whole terrorism thing was just a front!

Don't worry guys. Bin is doing well. Thank you. The usual pictures of him hiding in caves is most likely propaganda. That dude is extremely rich and needs not to hide. His father lived "the American Dream" in the 1950s.

"His father, Mohammed bin Laden, was an impoverished peasant from Yemen who emigrated to Saudi Arabia after World War II. There he started a construction business, eventually winning the contracts for some of Saudi Arabia's most prized mosques and palaces, and developing a very close relationship with the Saudi royal family. He became one of the richest men in Saudi Arabia, possessing a fortune estimated in the billions of dollars; Osama bin Laden's share of this fortune is estimated at almost $300 million. "

That's the claim some members of his family make. His family's wealth certainly helped him get started fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. Though "fighting" probably isn't the right word. He did logistics. IIRC the Pashtun mujahideen thought he was a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles, some Saudi college kid playing soldier (which he was). So he helped form Maktab al-Khidamat, which became Al Qaeda. It's likely that bin Laden doesn't really need his family's money anymore, it's his family's ties to Saudi high society that he needs, for both fundraising and recruitment.

Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he's in Pakistan, paying off the ISI to warn him of any coming drone strikes.

Osama is much more valuable to the US government alive and elsewhere than dead or in their custody.
