Just like you can't explain away someone's Socialism with another person's Socialism.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the [federal] government." ~ James Madison

I disagree. The original rant made it seem like Obama is such a danger because all the stuff mentioned had never happened until O showed up. It ignores everything-and there's a lot-that has gone on before.

I don't see him saying what O is doing is "OK", but rather that pointing to O as if no prior President has ever done patently harmful things is myopic at best.

Socialism? Just enough to suit the corporations that buy the lobbyists that buy the politicians. Corporate welfare as we know it would not be possible were we in a truly capitalist society.

Who gets corporate welfare? The list is long and contains a lot of Fortune 500 companies. Walmart profit is about $20K per minute, but they still benefit from lots of taxpayer dough. They've received over $1 billion! Nice, huh?

Walmart loves socialism! So does Halliburton, Motorola, GE, Boeing......and many others.

And of course, Proctor & Gamble has enjoyed being propped up with taxpayer money for many years. Gee, Mr. Obama Letter Writer never mentions that.....

"The consumer products company received a 65 percent job creation tax credit and a 65 percent job retention tax credit for 10 years, to consolidate more than 300 jobs at its Winton Hill Business Center in Finneytown. The credits for the $20 million project are worth about $18 million over their term."

      Massive tax rebates in Utah.

      P&G sends jobs overseas.

What was that you were saying about killing the golden goose, Mr. P&G?

Among many nuggets in that letter. The writter seems to have forgotten that it is exactly the American capitalist goose (greed) that lead to this current recession, and that not everyone has the luxury of living the highest standard...
ah, ignorance is bliss, eh Lee?
capitalism is not at fault. capitalism operates under a set of rules laid down by congress. congress fucked up in establishing rules that led to a hyped up housing market aided and encouraged by the wonder of wonder mr greenspan and his easy money see-no-evil policies.
in fact, government intervention in the economy and its unintended consequences are the root cause of the mess we're in

        congress REQUIRED subprime loans
congress APPROVED of fannie mae and freddie mac underwriting subprime loans
congress REFUSED numerous attempts by bush to reign in fannie and freddie

to blame capitalism for taking advantage of government mandated policies is a bit too much

I see everyone stands exactly where I think they stand. Lot of predictable people in here. And, the fact of the matter is that they are this way from their past.

That should go to show you something.
