Stop paying for Clinton's 3 floor office in Harlem, paid for by us and why? Does George get the Crawford ranch paid for by taxpayer dollars?

These presidential library's need to stop being funded by tax payer dollars. If the stuff can be digitized do it.

Like most other office markets in the city, Harlem's has been battered by the economic downturn. Annual rent for the space will total about $399,931 during the lease's first five years, according to the General Services Administration. That's approximately $100,000 less annually than the current rent of about $506,777.

While not all that much it still a decent amount.

All ex-presidents are given offices funded by taxpayers. Clinton was apparently hounded about getting one that cost $800k and dropped back to this place in Harlem. GW's ranch isn't paid for, but his Dallas office is at $700k/yr. Quick Google:

No I really don't think they need a paid office when just about anyplace or thing they do is free. Go for dinner free just sign a photo saying you ate here. yaddah yaddah.

I just don't think it's a need perk of being a former president. And if we are going to have this perk lets set caps and keep them.

Will say I'm pissed because I am being federally downsized about 8 months shy of my retirement.

^Agreed. Especially when these guys are already millionaires. And pull outrageous speaking/appearance fees.

I'm all for continuing the Secret Service security detail, but if we are truly looking to cut waste, I think we should try to cut ALL OF IT.
