People here get fat from beer, not food :)
Though beer is also known as liquid bread.

McD's, KFC's etc. here have much more veggies in the foods, slightly different recipies and taste, better meat.
And when you ask for a steak in most restaurants, you'll get a 250 gram serloin with vegetables. Rarely will you see a 1lb TBone at restaurants, except raw in stores and a couple steak houses. Most health problems over here are due to pork fat.

Do you think we'll ever find a topic that Heeter doesn't know everything about?

Also, if this is the way you raise steaks in the US, holy shit:

yeah thats what you get when you go fast food or walmart, and Bigger chains in the cities. when you live in the smaller cities or in rural areas (other than walmart and fast food). You tend to get more free range locally grown beef that is not so much feed lot beef.

Or do like I do and buy a whole or a 1/2 a beef from the rancher down the street. If the little woman would not get attached to EVERYTHING we would raise a couple of our own and sell one to pay for them.

I usually only stick to topics which I know what I'm talking about. (direct opposite of Corvallis). There's plenty of things I don't know shit about (like pro sports), but I don't comment on them and don't pretend to know like reading one article makes me knowledgeable.

And yes. That's a feedlot like in Texas. 15,000 steers. Pork comes from similarly large swine farms. And shit becomes a big issue at the point.

Yeah, sleeve, if you live near a producer and have a chest freezer - buying a whole cow is a great way to keep beef affordable.

Fusion - thanks for the confirmation. It's culture which is making a lot of people unhealthy. Look at the health concerns for people, especially in the South and then google "Soul Food".
