I agree with what we have done so far 100%, we have tipped the scales and I wouldn't be surprised if the remaining military of Libya switches sides soon to avoid being bombed into oblivion and losing all of their equipment.

The only criticism I can say is that this action should have been taken a couple weeks ago.

      This.
Why the fuck would obama ORDER to take the USS midway out of the gulf when Libyan rebels were retaliating.
Our window slipped when the USS midway was out.
We should have the aircraft warship on the shores to FLEX our muscles. Morale would have been up.
Ghaddafi would be out of here by now..

To make it clear that we didn't intend to jump in and oust the guy for them.
And the delay was to get support on this from other nations. It might not be ideal, acting swiftly would have saved some lives of course, but it's better than getting kicked out of the UN for playing world police and having all the arabs turn against us.

We would never get kicked out of the UN, we practically fund the UN

I guess I'm confused on the disconnect then.

Obama says Gaddafi "must go" as in, not be the leader of Libya anymore.
We intervene militarily, but then won't go through with ridding LIbya of him.

We should have stayed out of it to begin with, but since we went. We should have gone in Sherman-style and ran roughshod over the goon and been done with it in a few days.

Our Country needs a lot of maintenance itself. To make it into an analogy... Its like we are working on our car which needs a lot of repairs, but we've got these neighbors who really don't like us and also have cars that have been up on jacks for damn near half a century. Yet, we still keep trying to fix everyone one else's shit, and in return we suffer... Until the US is number 1 in Education and Health care i find it be a tough argument that we are in fact #1. The richest 400 people in American have the same accumulated wealth as HALF of America... come on... Our system needs a serious overhaul, let the middle east do what its done for centuries and lets focus on actually competing for what matters. Laying off teachers and cutting there benefits but here we are firing of 200 missiles in Libya... Shit just gets me aggravated.

At least you're smart enough to see it's the system and not the "evil" rich people at work here. Unlike a few other people here. And I wholeheartedly agree education is where we need to focus our efforts more. Real education not the halfhearted effort we are currently giving our children.

I agree with you guys there, we have enough of our own problems. That's why I'd prefer we stay out, don't send in troops.
The UN thing is mainly like, look at how badly this whole war on terror thing went over. Us going into Iraq without the support of UN made us look like a bag of assholes. If we really are is a debate for another thread, been debated for half a decade now. But given the chance, and considering how touchy things are over there when it comes to us trying to help, getting a few thumbs ups seemed like a good idea before lobbing all those missiles into there.

From what I can find the whole purpose originally was to simply create a no fly zone and that's it. Once we started to decimate Gaddafi's forces the Arab League had a real problem with our actions. Now we're trying to turn this mess over to someone else. We still look like shitheads. Either go in full force or not at all. Not at all is a better choice considering it's time we left them alone to sort out their own misery. I mean the entire Middle East.
