The book freakonomics suggests the drop in crime in rate in the early 90s is because of legalized abortiong. By parents not having unwanted children that they can't take care of, there are less "at risk youths" that end up in those types of situations.

Not saying it is or isn't true, but it's an interesting theory.

You realize more kids that are "wanted" end up in jail that "unwanted" kids do, right? There's no grounds for the "unwanted child" debate. There's thousands of barren married couples, women, gay or lesbian people in the world that would love to adopt. It comes down to a selfish, reckless woman/behavior that they feel they are "entitled" to.

I'm not anti abortion. Abortion has a place in this world. I'm against having to pay for others abortions and against people using abortions as birth control because they like the pull out method or can't control their urges till they have protection.

How about this, make all newborn girls unable to have children later in life, and if they want their reproductive system restored, they must pay a 100million dollar tax. Also install computers in peinses,vaginas and anuses so if they are sexually stimulated a $10,000 tax is incurred. Or just make it so we cannot be sexually stimulated at all. Ever.

while I agree with this for the most part. Its not the federal govts job to provide you with BC or Abortions to protect you from your own stupid actions.

What you seem to not understand is that by the govt always stepping in to fix/provide/bail out/take care of, those that make stupid irresponsible decisions. You do nothing but perpetuate that behavior and teach people its ok to be a fuck up and that someone will always do the hard work for them. Actions have consequences and bad actions normally have shitty consequences, its not the responsibility of the govt or the tax payers to subsidize their shitty life and continued bad decision making, how else are they going to learn other wise (this applies to both PP and the Welfare state) .
