LOL - the Weiner man can stay

anybody need any further proof of the blatant double standard of the press and the outright hypocricy and moral bankruptcy of the democrat party?

you cannot make this stuff up

WASHINGTON – Amid increasing calls for Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says the decision should be up to the congressman and his New York constituents.
The former speaker said in San Francisco that she believes the decision should be made by "the individual member" and the people in his district.
Weiner, a seven-term Democrat, has admitted sending sexually explicit photos and messages over the Internet to a half dozen women over the past three years. Pelosi has asked the House Ethics Committee to investigate whether Weiner used any government resources.
Weiner told a newspaper Thursday he would not resign. At least nine House members and three senators said he should quit.
Two former Democratic Party chairmen also said he should resign.
[ For complete coverage of politics and policy, go to Yahoo! Politics ]

Weiner did pick up support from Rep. Charles Rangel, a New York Democrat who was censured by the House last year for ethics violations.
Rangel suggested that other members of Congress had done things more immoral than Weiner.
Rangel said Weiner "wasn't going with prostitutes. He wasn't going out with little boys."
In a recent poll of registered voters in Weiner's district, 56 percent said he should stay in office while 33 percent said he should leave.

Exactly what I have been thinking. As humans we all fall short and are hypocritical, but I tend to chuckle/shake my head at those who demonstrate it on such a stage.

Don't the Dems talk mad shit about the republicans for their issues in marriage/relationships? They'd be up in arms if this was the other way around. Regardless of parties, everyone shouldn't even have to call for his resignation, it should fkng be automatic/common sense. Pelosi stepping up for him, no shocker, is practically a condoning of such behavior. WTF.

Kids in High School are getting arrested and charged with crazy shit for texting a picture of boobs and 'weiners' and are fkng kids going through puberty and shit! But this guy can do it without having to resign!? GTFO please! You fkd up, you allowed the truth of you not having good morals to leak out nationally, fkng resign and move on already!

If you're going to do naughty/dirty shit, don't let it get out. If it does, own up! And in your position, owning up means GTFO! Just cause we all know politics is fkng corrupt doesn't mean you can let your bullshit shenanigans get and and still stay!

And I had a MAJOR WTF moment a day or two ago as I found myself watching none other than Spitzer reporting on this Weiner bullshit!

It's beyond a fkng joke. I am so tired of the fkng Media and the bullshit we have to deal with and listen to. It's impossible to avoid it without moving out of the country and even then.

Even Weiner annoys his Democratic buddies.

It's sad this country has anyone like these guys that get away with doing immoral BS....and continue to "represent" Americans. Whether R or D.

Who's to say it's wrong? Just playing devil's advocate here but, there's a lot of "He shouldn't have sent pictures of his pee pee to those women! It's immoral" flying around. Just curious what that's based on?

I think he should resign. I think the fact that he said he wasn't going to over it is proof enough of why he should resign. So much for bowing out gracefully.

as much as I HATE Weiner, and as stupid as it is, that he sent pee pee pics to people he was not married to.

Thats not what I have issues with, that is his choice and what he dose in his private life is his business. The fact that he put him self in a place to balck mailed and could pose a security risk at the higest levels because of it, is one reason he needs to go, and where I have issues. For me though the biggest reason is the LYING and being ashamed that he got caught NOT for what he has put his wife though. That is why he should step down IMO.

It's all linked though. That's the thing. His private life? How is this shit private? And now it's no longer his business, it's ours as you hear about it every where you turn and we find ourselves discussing it now. None of what you state you have an issue with would have occurred without none of the things you don't have an issue with occurring.

                Again: as stated above...

and let me add, I definitely fall short of regularly maintaining those characteristics and behaviors but I am definitely able to witness that they work for those who successfully carry them out. lol

I'm not saying he shouldn't resign but there are a lot of congressman in office that have done far worse and even get re-elected (David Vitter comes to mind). If we asked for resignations of every congressman who has lied or did something illegal, you would have a much smaller congress.

                    Fixed that for you.

Although it really does depend on what they did. Had Weiner not lied from the beginning, I didn't see it as all that bad....except that he's a Congressmen. But the lying absolutely crosses the line for me.

                      C'mon, guys ...

... give him a break. It's not like he was out partying one night with a woman other than his pregnant wife, then got drunk and drove his car into a pond, leaving his companion to drown before leaving the scene and waiting nine hours to report the incident. Then he'd have to resign.

Oh, wait ... on second thought, if history's any indication, Weiner should be good for at least another 40 years.

My comment was just a general comment. Not intended for anyone specifically.
And I agree with you for the most part. That's why I said if the guy had come right out and admitted it, I really wouldn't have cared all that much....minus that he is married and represents Americans.
They don't like Weiner because he's too hard for them to even work with. So they aren't doing it to "clean the ranks". They're doing it so they can get someone they can manage. Or is that use?

Why do people defend Weiner staying in office by saying "Look at all the other lying douchebags that are still there?"

Wouldn't we like to get all the lying douchebags out? Shouldn't we get one out anyway we can?

Why don't people think the group of officials most responsible for the direction of the most powerful country in the world be held to a higher standard than a drunken frat boy?

Hell, maybe that is the problem right there.
