well if you live in a state with a sales tax.............

Even before the days of the internez commerce, if you were ordering from a catalog and now the interwebz, you were supposed to keep track of how much and what you ordered and submit the sales tax to your home state for those purchases when you file your income taxes at the end of the year.

But NO ONE dose this, so this is why CA has passed this, NY, IL, are not far behind and trying to do the same thing. A few years ago MI said it was going to start cracking down on the Ebay and interwebz sales and not paying your sales tax. Dont know how far that went, I just know there was a large amount of saber rattling about it just before I got the fuck outta there.

Oh just wait till we get the VAT oh how I am looking forward to that day, because you know we will not be losing the income tax it will be on top of them. I just looked at my last pay stub and I am just disgusted with what I have paid in taxes this year already to the FEDS alone.

as if California cant get any better!

Supervisor Jeff Stone says the idea — which has been called a "crazy distraction" — would allow officials to focus on securing borders, balancing budgets, and boosting the economy.

Sounds like a scam to get out of paying for the massive debt that the state has accrued or at least diverting most of it towards the northern part of the state. Something tells me that the vast majority of the states debt comes from the south. As far as I am concerned, Southern California should secede from the US, not just the state.

It makes sense. The state has massive debt, if the southern half secedes, how is the public debt going to be split up?

southern California is filthy rich compared to northern California. Its cities are a lot more business-environment friendly compared to norcal. Just this week, Santa Clara county up in norcal just passed a stupid law requiring all people who handle food to take a course and test on what food safety... aka common sense. Oh yeah, and they're making the employer/employee foot the bill too.

as far as I can tell. socal subsidizes norcal's fiscal hemoraging behavior. SF, SJ, (ie illegal immigrant safe havens) are just some major cities that are expanding public services beyond their means regardless of your citizenship (turning a blind eye) while the southern cities are more stringent. So when it comes down to dollar and cents, you can easily see who is more responsible and why they would wnat to seperate the parasite

There are a few states that did it before California. NY is one of them. Amazon filed a case about that one.

Heaven forbid we teach the high schoolers and skanks about how to properly handle food. More like welcome to decades ago? You have to get a food handlers permit in the state of OK. And you've had to for a long time and its cheap.

50 bucks per employee is not cheap unles ur a big chained rstaurant. I mean everyone down to the bus boy lvel will have to get it. It is an added cost and force many small businesses to foot the bill (when hospitality is already a meaningless/dead end indstrys). Besides the majority of restaurant here are immigrant owned who are already disadvantagrd for their inability to keep up with ever frivelous regulatios when they simply just want to provide a service and jobs and not have time to participate in local politics.

Such a policyis nothing more than another excuse for the state to collect tax revenue by forcing u to participate in a class and pay for a certification on food cleanliness. Dont we already have ppl that reinforce that? Aka health department? This cetificate wont make me feel anymore safer especially if a restaurant has been aroind for years
