If there was an Ellis Island in San Diego, and Illegal Immigrants migrated via ship from Cape Horn, and jumped through all the hoops required to become a legit citizen, like learning the language, and American History, I'd be all for this.
But there is not, and immigrants only sacrifice a week and a few thousand dollars to come over and reap all the benefits our system/country has to offer. They never need to learn the language, because all the resources for free money and entitlements have an option to speak/phone in to a bilingual contact. They wave the flag of their home nation (not USA), and disrespect those that have gone through the correct channels to gain citizenship. They know nothing of this country, it's roots, and personality, and want to continue to "colonize" the USA with all the members of their extended family.Comment

And remember folks...illegals don't take our jobs...even though we continually find businesses hiring illegals for jobs.
Patrick McDonough, a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates who helped lead the petition drive for the repeal initiative there, said U.S. citizens who are struggling to pay for college should not have to compete with illegal immigrants for scarce financial resources.
"People would say, 'Why should we, when we're having tough economic times ourselves, pay for someone who is here illegally?'" he said.Last edited by joshh; 07-26-2011, 10:30 AM.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Don't get lost in certain parts of LA...they don't need English.
I'm sure California helping support millions of illegals has nothing to do with their place in the financial world.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

That's another story. American's have this entitlement issue, where they'd rather sit at home/under a bridge, than get a job scrubbing toilets. That opens a vacuum for illegals to roll in and do that job, happily.
Then again, when the gvmt will support you, why work doing gross jobs no one else wants?
It's a lot more complicated than illegals just hopping over here. It's an issue with people over here encouraging it, in more ways than one.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

And why did I vote with my feet and move out of LA County and 45 miles from the "Reddest Place in America"?

Gross jobs? You think illegals only do the bad work? UPS, Taco Bell, Wal Mart, Pet Co. etc. All jobs Americans would take if illegals weren't already taking them.
But yes you're correct where we pay people to not work. But then again illegals can not only work but take advantage of our entitlement system with a simple SS number...stolen.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I'm not saying they're only taking gross jobs. They're taking jobs that Americans feel they are too good for. I've heard it more than once. "I don't want to work there, it sucks. It's Wal-Mart." "I don't want to flip burgers" etc, etc. It's better than having no job, well maybe not, as ole Uncle Sam will flip you a check each month.Gross jobs? You think illegals only do the bad work? We have a large turkey processing plant in the county north of me. At least twice a year, on the front page of the news paper, it will talk about the illegals hiding in the de-boners when INS rolls in. We all know they are there. Fucking do something about it. But wait, nobody wants to do those jobs. That's gross. Plus too, the company doesn't want to pay high enough wages to encourage a domestic workforce to work there.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

And, next year, when they are public funded, will you want salt for that foot?...Proponents of the California Dream Act -- which was vetoed multiple times by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger -- hailed Brown’s approval of AB 130 as an important first step that will allow illegal immigrants access to privately funded scholarships beginning next year.
The author of the new law, Assemblyman Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles), has sponsored a second bill, AB 131, that would make illegal immigrants eligible for Cal Grants and other forms of state tuition aid. He said he hopes to win the Legislature’s approval of that component later this summer.
Opponents of the legislation say it would unfairly take scholarship funds away from students who are U.S. citizens. And the Dream Act became a key point of debate between Brown and his Republican opponent Meg Whitman during the gubernatorial campaign last year.
Brown said he would sign the Dream Act and called opponents “wrong morally and humanly.”
On Monday, Cedillo praised Brown as a “man of his word.”
“You’ve had some great days as a governor, but I think this is going to be one of those days that really sets a milestone because it’s so forward-looking,” Cedillo said.
Speaking to reporters after the event, Brown said he viewed the other component of the Dream Act providing public funds for undocumented students “favorably,” but didn’t want to “scoop” himself. “I think we ought to wait until it gets to my desk,” Brown said.Comment

That's illegal too. Polygamy. He'd probably get hella money from Uncle Sam for breaking that and helping break immigration laws.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment
