^I was wondering when a conservative was going to mention that.

Actually, you don't recall correctly. Only a few scientists were speculating the ice age theory. GW was the more popular theory back then too. You can find it in several science books written in the 70's. It was actually first postulated in the mid 1800's when a scientist discovered the greenhouse gas effects of CO2. There is some great information on this subject if you read up on it. I think you would find the evidence overwhelming.

I guess because he is a nobel prize winning physicist it would not make him any more knowledgeable on global warming?

Right, because you have individuals standing out from the crowd in the scientific community claiming theories to be false you now need to adopt faith to accept it as a reality...does that pretty much sum it up? It's science, there is ALWAYS opposition and that's why it works. You'll have one person spend their time worked towards validating a theory and then you have many individuals trying to disprove that theory. That's why it works, what about that is difficult for you to understand? Dolt

Since when is science taking a theory and making it a fact when it's still a theory? Why can't you think with that?

then why is it unacceptable to question the new religion?

Not saying this applies to you, but there are many who refuse to discuss the issue in any sort of honest, intellectual capacity. Every 'critic' is given credibility, yet none is extended to those who support AGW.

Look at this thread or any other AGW thread here, you'll see example after example of the same crap.

GW believers haven't been given enough credibility? How much money should be thrown at "green" companies and how many more regulations do we need to prove they have been given far too much credibility?

I'm not saying its unacceptable, but when people like yourself come forward and start addressing scientific theories as religion because you're incapable of actually evaluating the evidence then yea...you're going to get laughed at and not very many people are going to take you seriously and misinterpret that as total rejection of opposition.

Since when is science taking a theory and making it a fact when it's still a theory? Why can't you think with that?
There are wingnuts on both sides of the fence, and when the evidence is strong enough to address it as scientific fact it will happen. Just because you oppose something doesn't discredit the evidence that has been compiled by the overwhelming majority who practice in that particular field. Posting links to people with phd's in different fields as though that title is inarguable credit to their ability to process data which they did not study shows a serious lack of ammo for your side of the story. I'm not going to trust a psychologist to do open heart surgery, and at the same time I'm not going to trust a heart surgeon to design the architecture of a new skyscraper.

                    Wow Just wow.

Those that question the science (you know what good scientists do!) get shouted down, get no funding, and attacked on the personal level in attempts to discredit them. The hippies yell and shout anyone down anywhere that dont adhere to the green mantra, and will stop at nothing to inhibit those they dont agree with.

This is done because the AWG is a means to an end. That end is not to save the fucking planet, the planet will still be here no matter what we do it. Its to deliver power to the chosen few and a means for the govt to pick who will make it and who wont in the business world. Its a means to socialism on a global level.

This is why those that have honest common sense question and refuting data are always condemned, and why AL keeps squawking the science is settled (you say it enough, enough stupid people will believe it) Its why we see little coverage of data counter to the agenda. Like how in 2010 there was more polar Sea Ice than there was in 1979, or how solar activity has more to do with it (you know this thread), or that a good volcanic eruption a year ago expelled many times the amount of C02 in to the atmosphere then all of human kind. Why is not tropical all over the global then??? Why is still 32* at night at my house ??? All these things are legitimate questions and get little to no coverage that the general public sees. Why is its that Climate gate emails are washed away as non issue (yes I know they were obtained illegally) the info contained in them shows that there was a intentional effort to quite the skeptics and keep them from disproving the agenda...................... WHY THE FUCK COULD THAT BE ????? Use your heads to look past whats on the surface.

Green is an agenda about control, green is not about saving the fucking earth. Green is the new RED, no more no less.

Regardless of whether or not global warming is occurring, air quality is still a concern. Frankly I'm more concerned about my lungs/health than the future of the planet.

Sounds like most of MT. ;)

Your counterpoint doesn't have to be obvious hyperbole.
The atmosphere can obviously absorb and dissipate a lot of pollutants. I just don't want Portland to turn into Houston or Los Angeles. It's about balances... while erring on the side of public health.

The health effects of air pollutants on children are well-documented.

I know I know, I am glad you like your cities it leave more places for me ;) I understand your point and like I have always said, I am all for taking care of the environment, after all I am an outdoors man, I love the back country, hunting, fishing, hiking and so on. I am for things that help preserve such activities, but I am also a practical realist. I am not for regulating things into oblivion without 100% conclusive evidence that point to people being the sole cause, to justify such actions need to be taken. The point remains that we know next to nothing about this ball of dirt and how its weather works, all we have is best guesses, and there are real possibilities that we have very little to do with what the weather patterns are doing right now warming or cooling. I am all for taking care of the environment to a point, that is analogues to a dog does not shit where it eats. The warimists ignore these facts, and blast anyone with a honest question and or refuting science, this is why on the whole I have issues with entire movement, its become a religion of sorts and like I said earlier it has been hijacked into a means to an end that has nothing to do with saving the planet.

Oh and there is much of MT that is reserved for the millionaires now ( I live in one of those places and I hate that aspect of it), But yes you can find many places like I describe all over the place not just MT. WA, OR, ID UT, WY, in fact almost every state has places like the ones I describe. AS far as my self, I am trying to talk the wife into moving much much further out, where its nearly 2 hours to walmart or closer to 3. What can I say I like my peace and quiet.
