    Equality is bullshit

It's funny. I grew up being taught in school all about equality and how good it was and the world was so unequal and should be more equal. But, the more I think about it, the more I realize that the idea of equality is bullshit. First of all, it doesn't make any sense. Every person has their own mind, their own body, their own lives, and it is impossible for 2 people to be equal and this is even if race and gender and sexual orientation did not exist. Second, even if the world could some how become equal, it would be a pretty shitty place to live. There would be no dissenting opinions, no creativity or innovation, no freedom of choice and definitely NO FREEDOM TO CHOOSE HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. Everybody would be told which car to drive, which job to work, where to live, how to raise their families. The individual would cease to exist.

Ah the thoughts of a liberal in the most economic sense.

Too bad politics is 101243124x more complicated than this simple concept.

Equality, in the context of "all people being equal" does not connote sameness.

        equal [ee-kwuhl]

        e·qual   [ee-kwuhl] Show IPA adjective, noun, verb, e·qualed, e·qual·ing or ( especially British ) e·qualled, e·qual·ling.
        adjective
        1.
as great as; the same as (often followed by to or with ): The velocity of sound is not equal to that of light.
        2.
like or alike in quantity, degree, value, etc.; of the same rank, ability, merit, etc.: two students of equal brilliance.
        3.

It connotes sameness but possibly not in every conceivable way.

congratulations welcome to real world, we welcome you with open arms ;)

Now you see the flaws in central planning and why it will never work. The only place everyone is and rightly should be equal, is under the law.

Equality, when used to describe a desired effect on society, is used in relation to rights and freedoms, not in terms of individualism. There is a saying about forests and trees that comes into play here, with the way that you are thinking.

Equality to a Liberal= Helping people based on race. Which in turn creates inequality to those races (whites) they choose not to help as much so it's then "equal" for everyone else.

I don't see where you see equality turning into a society where everything is decided for you. You're taking a HUGE leap to get to those conclusions and quite frankly I don't think you've even thought it out. How will equality remove our freedoms and choices? It wouldn't.

Should is the big word here.

Agreed to a point.............. Fancy lawyer-in aside Why do you suppose its so that, there has been (all though not formally introduced yet) discussed a CONSTITUTIONAL amendment that congress shall make no law that does not apply equally to them selves ??? (IE... 0-care)

Its called communism, its been tried, and h0lmes here used to advocate for similar ideals.

Obviously you dont seem to be keeping up with the trends of govt, to grow and liberty to yield. When everything is "equalized" your choices will not be your own, they will be that of the "equalization body" aka the govt. RIGHT NOW your choice to participate in say................ The Heath Care you chose for your child is not your choice in the USA any longer. If you dont do as the govt says you will be charged with child abuse / Child Neglect/ Child endangerment etc.. (we are not talking about religious loons that will only treat their child with prayer either). Or here in the US we soon will no longer have a choice in where or how we receive our heath care in general. We have govts all over the world including many US states that punish you for defending yourself from a violent attacker, you choice is limited there whether you want to live in jail or be killed or maimed by an invader or attacker, win win right?? We have the city govt on NYC banning salting your food when dining out, Zoning laws (to make every ones property look similar and equal) that can take your private property if you violate them. Govt's around the world have been considering and implementing a tax penalty on what you chose to eat and drink. Dont get me started on the Equal opportunity employer thing.

You see this is all in the name of fairness (or equality) it limits the choices, and has only been getting worse in the last 50 years. Really stop and look at what is being legislated all over the world and your own country you will see most of the time it comes down to limiting the choices of the people in way shape or form. The more overbearing and centralized the govt is the worse the condition..................................

Exactly. The original post is a superficial understanding/description at best.

The ideals of Marx and Engels are as inapplicable and unrealistic as those of Ayn Rand.

I assume you think the ramblings of Jefferson, Washington Addams, Franklin, etc..... to be just as unrealistic and inapplicable too right ?????
