Why is Gingrich such a dumbass?

Newt Gingrich is standing by comments he made earlier this week when he called the Palestinians an "invented" people.

"Remember, there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire," the former House speaker told the Jewish Channel this week. "And I think that we've have invented the Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs and are historically part of the Arab community, and they had the chance to go many places."

Gingrich's comments immediately caused a stir in the Middle East and elsewhere. A Palestinian legislator said Gingrich had "lost touch with reality," while another official described called him "ignorant," according to the Associated Press.

Gingrich was then asked about the comments during Saturday night's Republican presidential debate from Iowa, which was sponsored by ABC News.

"Is what I said factually correct? Yes. Is it historically true? Yes," he answered. "Are we in a situation where every day rockets are fired into Israel while the United States? The current administration tries to pressure the Israelis into a peace process... Somebody ought to have the courage to tell the truth. These people are terrorists. They teach terrorism in their schools. They have textbooks that say, if there are 13 Jews and nine Jews are killed, how many Jews are left? We pay for those textbooks through our aid money. It's fundamentally time for somebody to have the guts to stand up and say, enough lying about the Middle East."

Actually the man is right. Palestine still isn't a Sovereign Nation. But what he's failing to do is give them credit they deserve and that they are there own people at this point.

When you say 'credit' do you mean their own sovereignty? They do share a common ancestral heritage dating from way far back.

What I'm saying is that his comment seems to be intended to be a negative. He could have been more diplomatic and gone on about how they need help and need to dig themselves out of the hole they're in etc.
In other words to me it sounds like the typical Jewish supporter and not the realist we need to hear from.

Newt Gingrich. Lol. I loved his face when the "fidelity" question was brought amongst the speakers...

I like his comments about the moon mining and his wild, irrational fear of an EMP attack.

K's parents have been in an ongoing tizzy about how the terrorists are going to take out our power grid for the last couple months.

Amusingly, the general consensus on Gingrich is that he's the dumb person's idea of a smart person. Seems spot on to me.

An EMP attack is mostly on paper, they aren't sure if it would actually work.

Not to mention, if you have a nuclear device, why would you use to take out the power grid in the Midwest, as opposed to dropping it on Manhattan/San Fransisco/Chicago?

Good god, do people actually want this guy as the nominee or is the media just making something out of nothing again?

Not too many people understand that the election is literally controlled by big corporations.

                        They are spending billions lobbying.

They both Republicans and Democrats want to keep the status quo, so they actually want the same guy to get re-elected.

Having said that, they want to make sure no one will be able to defeat the current leader.

What they don't want to deal with is Ron Paul, who is pro people, and if he made it, there's a big chance he's gonna be the president.
Which is against the big corporations interest.

How can we justify the state of Israel then? For the last 2000 years, until 65 years ago, there wasn't a people you could call Israelites but somehow they're there and more recognized by the world then the people who've been living there!

Can you imagine if the Native Americans in 1800 years just got their very own country inside the United States on land that was important to us? I dunno, just something to think about.

I agree with you man but... can you stop saying the same generic shit in every thread? This forum is full of people who will discount a candidate based on his supporters ;)
