Hate to break it you but you just agreed with me.

This was the basic cause for my initial doubts as a youngster. No one has control over what they are exposed to.

With the way the world is it's kind of hard to throw away your community or family's beliefs for your own. Some do, but it's more complicated in different countries.

Good point. One could indeed use that logical construction to reach any sort of belief structure that one wanted regardless of someone or something telling that person to do so.

Do you find it interesting that my post creating an formulation of understanding of how "faith" in a deity could be reached individualistically is the one that has garnered so much attention and backlash from the atheists claiming to be unencumbered by external dictums? I already stated that I do.

                  slaterd,
Why are you so concerned with making everyone happy?
More to the point, why are you even concerned with the concept of happiness?

You absolutely do not. If I was born black I'd be a different man than I am now. Where is the choice in that? What if I was born in the 1920s? People are born as a blank slate and are formed by their surroundings. People are also subject to the whims of the world. If my face was scalded by hot oil tomorrow I may lose my position in management and get set on a different life track that ends with a polar opposite result. That can not and will not be my choice. It's nice to think that people are in control and get to decide their outcome but it is not the case. All we can do is remain commited to quality decision making and hope for the best.

What else is there to be concerned with? Life as I know it will end with my body. Considering the slim probability of my existence I think it's worthwhile to make the best of my short life. With that said, why would I want anything different for anyone else? A life fulled with turmoil would be an absolute shame.

If you're not trolling I'm very concerned with you. Your moral fibers seem to be the key ingredient of metamucil with the end result being roughly the same.

For someone repeatedly posting about the importance of respecting others it's interesting that you, and others professing similar, repeatedly personally attack me.

                        Does that bring you happiness?

If it helps, you needn't be concerned with me.

I was born into Scientology and made the concious choice to leave that fucking cult. You always have a choice. You might be set for life at a young age in a certain direction but you can always change that.

When did I personally attack you? When you question why anyone would be concerned with the happiness of others you are pretty much announcing that you are selfish. I don't know what else I'm supposed to make of that. Otherwise, I am concerned and I hope that you find balance in life. Everything you're saying is just disturbing and generally questionable.

So are you trolling or are you saying what you really believe?

Like I said, it's nice to believe that but it's a very limited ideal. What you did was the result of a seemingly quality decision but you have to realize that your circumstance allowed it.
