That's a graph of minimal government-mandated leave. The current benefits package you have is determined entirely by your employer.
Sleeve, 60*35 is slightly more than 40*50. So, no, not really.Comment

Why should the govt mandate any kind of leave in private business?????The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

I'd hate to go back to working 40 hours a week. I'm quite happy with 30 hours and 4 weeks vacation. Less stress = less health issues.;)
Seriously though, if the SC turns this bill down completely, we'll have universal health care the next time dems have control (which is completely constitutional). For those of you against universal healthcare, you may want to reconsider your stance against this bill. Let's not forget, this "mandate" idea was a republican idea and response to Hillary care in 1994.sigpicComment

why even bring the parties into it....It is not constitutional for the government to force commerce on the population just so it can regulate it.
also concerning parties, NOWHERE in article 3 is there any mention of an interpretive power by the scotus, so it shouldnt matter where their political ideologies lie, its nonsense.1991 318is --- currently not road worthy

No, rather we are workaholics who don't value leasuire as much as Europe and they take more holidays, work less hours, and work for shorter portion of their lives in some countries.
It's a choice and we choose money and stressful lifestyles, so it adds up and tolls us.Comment

OK. Same routing as before. Makes it way easier for me. My damn thumbs are tired haha.
I'm still unclear about: How can you make insurance affordable for the most costly without bumping the costs for those who are healthy?
THERE ARE REALLY ONLY TWO WAYS. EITHER ADD MORE HEALTHY YOUNG INDIVIDUALS TO THE POOL, OR MAKE CARE ITSELF MORE AFFORDABLE. IT'S NOT A SILVER BULLET, BUT A CATCH-22 IS THAT ADDING THE UNINSURED HEALTHY YOUTH THAT CURRENTLY PAY NOTHING WILL LOWER THE OVERALL COST OF CARE. NOT BY A TON, BUT IT WILL HELP.
THE REAL KEY IS TO IMPROVE THE DELIVERY OF CARE.
And if groups can cater to healthy pools alone, won't that create very expensive pools for the others? [a provider for healthy youth would remove them from other pools, not the pools kicking them out] If most of uninsured are cheap dumb kids and they all go into a less dumb provider for kids, how's that gonna make the rest more affordable?
IF INSURANCE COMPANIES CAN'T DENY UNHEALTHY INDIVIDUALS, THEN THEY WOULD JOIN THE PROVIDERS WITH THE HUGE POOLS OF HEALTHY YOUTH.
***I'LL HAVE TO RESEARCH BUT I BELIEVE THERE IS ALSO A REQUIREMENT IN THE GERMAN SYSTEM THAT A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE OF PREMIUM DOLLARS MUST GO DIRECTLY TO PROVIDING CARE.
And isn't the American diet and other factors (our workweek, lack of rest or vacation) going to have an impact on our costs compared to Germany who don't eat much red meat, or other nations that have better health lifestyles?
YEAH, WE'RE NOT THE HEALTHIEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. BUT ASIA AND EUROPE'S TOBACCO HABITS ARE GOING TO BE A HUGE PROBLEM.
A SIDE NOTE IN REFERENCE TO GERMANS: THE TIME'S THAT I'VE BEEN, I'VE SPENT THE MOST TIME IN BAVARIA. WHAT THEY LACK IN RED MEAT INTAKE, THEY MORE THAN MAKE UP FOR IT IN FATTY PORK. THAT PLACE IS LIKE THEIR ALABAMA HAHA.
Obviously I have incentives not to die but if costs don't jump if I take fun risks, then what discourages me financially from doing extreme sports and then just getting fixed up. (My Canadian friend competitively boxes and doesn't wear protection much on a bike or otherwise because single payer has him used to not being accountable for his decisions)
YOUR FRIEND DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE MUCH FORESIGHT. I THINK PAIN AND RISK OF INJURY IS WHAT KEEPS MOST FROM PARTICIPATING IN HIGH-RISK ACTIVITIES. MY COVERAGE IS FANTASTIC. I COULD PAY FOR SURGERY AND A SHORT HOSPITAL STAY WITH WHAT'S IN MY WALLET. THAT BEING SAID, I'M STILL NOT GOING TO JUMP OFF A BUILDING OR PARTICIPATE IN OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT MAY PUT ME IN PHYSICAL DANGER. BROKEN BONES HURT, BUT BRAIN DAMAGE NEVER HEALS.
Likewise, if we can treat health issues with surgery and drugs, then what's to encouages people not to chow down on triple cheeseburgers?
THEY DON'T WANT TO BE FAT, AND PERPETUALLY SWEATY.
SEX APPEAL IS PROBABLY A GOOD REASON ALSO. I THINK PEOPLE WANT TO BE INHERENTLY FIT. I DON'T HAVE MUCH OF A MONETARY INCENTIVE TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT AND HEALTHY, BUT I AM.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

Right we are still the most productive work force on the planet for a reason. Its part of what makes us Americans, the notion that you work hard and take care of your self and family is something to be proud of.The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

They were never getting it for free though. You still have to pay premiums. They're just less than they would be as an individual because the group is just adding an additional low risk patient to the pool.Health insurance is insanely cheap for most young adults. I bought my own plan when I grad college through bcbs for like $100 a month with no physical etc. So most can afford it. To bad for those 26 yr olds that would be dropped. They should be considered lucky they got a break that hundreds of millions before them didn't get.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment
