      If the general public had a ounce of personal responsibility, these kinds of laws would not exist. Same reason it is illegal to dump oil down storm drains or on the ground, if you aren't retarded then not doing it would be a no brainer. There is no logical reason not to recycle and throwing trash in with the recycling just makes the entire process harder and more expensive.

        So, if you see your neighbor repeatedly doing something stupid, and report them, your anonymity is protected. Secondly, the city seeks to codify what the garbage/recycling company is already requiring, so that people who fuck up the works by not following the rules can be incentivized to follow them.

        Yeah, sounds like something to get worked up about.....

          Maybe they should require mandatory chicken ownership. Between them and my goats, I don't think I even throw away 1% of my trash being food scraps. And just to get those damn hippie treehuggers, I have a burn barrel and light at least 60% of my trash on fire!
