Wow, if that's really being taken into consideration, I may just want to pack my bags and head to canada. Once a product is bought, it is now under your ownership. The company does not have any bit of ownership of the said product other that the fact that their name is on it and that is their own problem for branding their product. In other words, this shit is mine and I'm free to sell it to whoever I want, FUCK YOU!

Government already takes a cut from used vehicle sales no matter how many times they change hands. Surprising that pvt industry is trying to cash in on something the govt. has already been raping us on for decades?

There's huge difference between the two--for one, your government uses registration fees from your vehicle to pay for road and vehicle related costs--this is nothing more than private industry trying to extract wealth from something they should have no authority to do so.

Yeah, it seems the kid was just practicing good old fashioned captialism.

Also shows how much of an enormous rip-off the college textbook market is in this country.

Publishers of textbooks have always claimed it's due to the high cost of printing books--just wait till textbooks are widely (or exclusively) found in digital format and still aren't any cheaper.

If the Supreme Court does rule with the appellate court, it’s likely that the matter would be brought to Congress to force a change in law. Until then, however, consumers would be stuck between a rock and a hard place when trying to resell their stuff.
I doubt there would be any bickering about changing the law. I also doubt anyone would care if they broke the law. Nothing will change.
