I just think magazine bans are ridiculous. It's like giving a murderer a 6" knife instead of a 10" one, he's still going to achieve his end goal. Arbitrary limitations which make no significant difference are just a desperate attempt by shitty politicians to look good in the public eye, they're responding to an incident and making a change. Now every can go to sleep safely tonight knowing that because of her, they'll only get shot 10 times and not 30.

OR law says that no firearm signs carry the force of law with in the state, they can not only kick you out but press chargers as well. Your right most people who carry are not going to confront something like this they will retreat as you put it your not supposed to draw that weapon unless you are in danger. Let me ask you though if you have a weapon and are witness to something like this, and an opportunity presented it self for you to stop it would you take the shot???? I would I could not live with my self if I didnt, in this case anyway.

And Cale Buddy, I totally agree with you, and your hitting the nail on the head with this one. Its topic that has been hotly debated for the better part of 400 years now, and in most places in the world the view point you seem to hold on this as well myself, and mnay others is in decline.

Every gun owner thinks they'll be Rambo when in danger, however the vast majority would piss themselves or fuck it up. In these public, mass shooting situations, the only people I would trust are those with real LEO or military training, aka my Ranger and 82nd Airborne buddies who have wasted Taliban and have bronze stars and shit.

I'm pro gun rights but everyone thinks they are tough when they have guns or alcohol.

But in a well lit, environment with lots of cover, and the right circumstances, I would not hesitate to put the little red dot from my crimson trace on the back of the fuckers head and squeeze.

That said, I am not going to go looking for shit either, it better be happening in front of my face, and already be well with in danger though no fault of my own. By going looking for trouble, you are in violation of the primary purpose of your permit and as you point out those that are trained for search and destroy of armed threats its prolly best to leave it to the professionals. If you go looking for trouble, and cross the line form reasonable safety to danger with the intent of confronting a shooter, you open your self up to all kinds of legal ramification form Murder 1 to Civil wrongful death form the fuckers family that will take everything you own. Or You DIE too, none of those is something I would be looking forward and would avoid at all costs.

Dont try and tell me what I think and how I think or how I act because I have weapon on my hip. I have been carrying a weapon on my hip as an armed civilian for many years, and all over the country where my permits allow, I am very well versed on what I can and cant do with that weapon. Next until confronted with this situation I cant say for 100% how I will react, but I hope and pray that all my time on the range and dry training will kick in and I will not freeze up. I can only attest to my personal mentality, and moral obligation to others, that if presented with an opportunity end something like this under the correct circumstances and with in the bounds of my legal rights I would act. No more no less.

ITS CALLED MUSCLE MEMORY. You dim witted fool..... If you dont practice and drill for something, you will choke if something actually happens (how do you think you Military buddies got their base knowledge before they went into combat) YEAH RANGE AND DRY FIRE TRAINING.

If you have trained and practiced at least to the point of drawing and acquiring the target, clearing malfunctions, and shooting off hand and out of ideal position you are well ahead of the game than just strapping a weapon on your hip and walking around like big man on campus.

Many private citizens go to combat weapons training to learn just such skills IE front sight, and Sig academy to name a couple. I have not had the time to attend either of these,(front sights combat pistol courses are on my list some day) but I do shoot a lot (when I am home anyway) with the local constabulary, and boarder patrol. One of my better friends is a sheriff and he does lots of move and shoot dont shoot stuff to keep his skills up, when I am home I do the same with him. I may not be as remotely as well trained as the LE/Military, but I am not just walking around with a 45 or a 380 stuffed into my pants either. You are right though many people dont put the range time or continued self or professional training in once they have their permit many dont keep the skills up like they should.
