I watched the security there and the body scanning every person coming in, all while they played the national anthem in the background.

I would say half of that was just securing the president and his family especially since he is now so POPULAR. I wouldn't leave the house if I were him.

also, consider the people who were getting paid. american security firms, american catering businesses, american transportation services.. the money went right out of the federal budget and into the hands of private, tax paying individuals and businesses.
