University of Califonia System's lastest divestment bill

Personally, I think this a move in the right direction.
While many are claiming that it will effect the employment of UC grads, I think that matter is completely irrelevant
    - rather it is making the UC system part of a greater movement that is for the greater good of humanity.

    Discuss.

    seems awfully one-sided and pointless.

it also won't effect you as a UC grad. the only thing that effects you is your achievements and your salesmanship of how awesome you are.

so, israel protecting itself from people with a public goal of destroying it and it's people is occupation and makes them apartheid?

divisive? how can that bill be considered divisive?

Turn Palestinian for one second and hear yourself talk.

Seems like a step in the right direction but since General Atomics, military bases and the likes are in San Diego I don't know how this would even be fairly implemented.

i know its more complicated than that, but how about some tough love diredted at hamas? renouncing their stated goals of destroying israel?

          just to be equitable

Even if that was their stated goal, does it really matter when they don't have any capacity to do so?

Only one side has the capacity to destroy the other, and it ain't the one with the "stated goal" of doing so.

You're right. Could this situation almost bee seen as if saying slaves were dangerous because they were mad for being slaves though? Take the reason away for all these people to be mad, and rightfully so, and you take away the threat they pose from the artificial dilemma. Just imho.

So Israel has the capacity to wipe out Palestine, but hasn't
What do you think would happen if the shoe was on the other foot?

since atheism is the religion of the Left, anti-semitism becomes a politcally correct orthodoxy.

and no crap about how arabs are semites, too. i'm speaking of old school Jew-hatred, AH style.

If arabs are semites then how is it anti-semitism? Is any disagreement expressed some how now deemed as anti-somesortofnationality due to racism?

The history there is nothing but dirty (just like any region's) but somehow you think there wouldn't be any resentment felt from either side?

Your premise is flawed from the first half of the first sentence.

Atheism is the absence of religion, and I am not a leftist.

Beyond that, I don't have a dog in the Israel:Palestine fight. It's another war over land; probably the most fought-over piece of land in the world. Won't be the last fight over this particular patch of dirt.
