Do you really feel that having an armed responsible citizen with a 17 round magazine in their Glock wouldn't be a better way to stop an active shooter instead of "waiting for a reload"?

Maybe we need more, the number of CCW licensed to full adult population is abysmal. I don't suggest all people should be armed at all times, some people don't have the fortitude to train properly or make the correct shoot/no shoot call.

Please explain to me how facts and evidence (of which I've posted much in this thread) are a sign of mental weakness, dishonesty or self-deception. Considering I have yet to see you post even a shred of evidence to back up your claims, I find your assertions to be rather backwards.

If you can show me any kind of data that proves more guns = less crime, or that the government really is plotting to take all of your guns away, or that gun control is not only ineffective by counter-effective, I'd happily receive it with an open mind. I might even change my opinion. But since everything you've said is just your own personal opinion and feelings, I'm not inclined to do so at this point.

During the North Hollywood shootout a gunmen had 100 rd drum and it jammed, he discard the rifle soon after. Large capacity magazines aren't that reliable especially for pistols.

Yeah, but we don't. It is outlawed to open carry in many states and getting a CCW is very tough in many others.

Someone mentioned there isn't a need for a large stockpile of firearms and ammo.

22 years ago in Los Angeles there were city wide rioting. People beaten to death, homes and business looted and burned down. Korean living there defended their home and business with firearms because the police weren't responding. The police mostly guarded nicer neighborhoods like Beverly Hills. Bunch of people would didn't own guns before tried to purchase them during the riots weren't able to. Most stores sell out right away soon after any incident due to panic. In CA there is a safety certification card you need to purchase a handgun and a 10 day cool down period for any firearm.

Natural disaster and shortage of food and water also bring out looters and other opportunis.

I respect the point(s) you're trying to make here, but you'll never get through to some people. I've learned to never discuss politics or religion with family or people I consider friends...doing so anonymously on the internet is even more worthless. Fight the good fight on a local level, make sure your representatives know your stance, introduce open minded individuals to the sport of responsible shooting and gun ownership and support local businesses that share your views and avoid those that don't. Unless of course you feel like arguing with people and going around in endless circles, then by all means.

Make sure you let your Congressman know you are worried about being invaded by foreign armies.
