I don't eat there anymore, unless I'm visiting my Dad and he wants some, but that's seldom. Its tasty but it makes me feel like shit, and I don't like how poorly their employees are treated.

The closest thing I have done to fast food in a long time are burritos.

I wont put that crap in my body. Im no food elitist and I dont eat "healthy" or "organic" all the time, but the shit they do to their "food" is soooooo nasty! Their burger meat gets soaked in some of the same shit that goes in Windex guys. Why? Because the quality of the meat before this proses of cleaning it, is not legal for human consumption.
Realize the corners they must have to cut to make a profit off of a $1 burger. There is a resin its not even close to healthy or nutritious. Nasty

Not quite... it's called ammonium hydroxide. It is used as an antimicrobial rinse in meat (0.1-0.3% ammonia), yes. It's also been used by many, many more places than just Mcdonalds. Including the Socal "Nothing is fresher" burger joint In N' Out. Mcdonalds actually stopped this practice in their meats several years ago due to social media hype. Others though, have not. It is also not limited to just the fast food market.

It's also a very important thing to have in your body... Those microorganisms living in your gastro-intestinal tract rely on ammonia for nitrogen cycling, which is integral to amino acid production and protein synthesis. You wouldn't be a healthy living being without it, and them. You, and the meat inside of you, naturally have ammonia. And so does the meat you may eat, fresh off any bone.

Do you like Jam? Ammonium Alginate.
Like cheese? Back to ammonium Hydroxide.
Organic and vegetarian? Soy protein has both ammonium alginate AND ammonium sulfate (Which is also a fertilizer).

But, because people clean with CONCENTRATED ammonia (5-10%), such as the ammonia-D in windex, the masses who don't know any better instantly say "GLARGLESNARTCH NASTY THINGS AND IT'S KILLING YOU NOT GLUTEN-FREE TRANS FAT FREE *insert next social foodage hotword here* FREE!!!"

Hydrogen peroxide is the exact same way. Good for cleansing wounds, in diluted solutions. Concentrated hydrogen peroxide will fuck your day up and then some. Did you know that your mom cleaned your scraped knee with the same shit that's inside of some GLOW STICKS?!? It was also used in Russian torpedoes during the 1950's! (And is also THE reason for the Kursk explosion)

Mcdonalds certainly isn't health food by any means, no doubt, but the things that are all over social media are extremely misleading.

my buddy just got a job at McDonalds for the school year, and he said that if you saw the kind of shit back in the kitchen you'd never want to eat it again. he said the most natural and fresh things there are the coffee and the fries. he told me about how they make the burgers and sometimes when it gets busy they make a shit ton of them and then they keep them in a heater, sometimes for hours, and how the pickles are gross too. regardless of what kind of chemicals they have in them, it's just nastyyyyyyy

Food sucks ass. Its horrible. Carls Jr. reinvented the company with their actual burgers, which are actually good. If they were to basically ditch the crap processed food and do something like In&Out with good honest fresh burger it would turn them around. I haven't eatten at one in years nor do I care to. I think its sad that McDonald's has become what it is.

After watching Supersized, I was done. Not that I ate there a lot either. Oddly enough, I still get the cravings for it so I may only eat there once a year. There are so many options that McDs is usually last. I think the best thing they put out was long ago...The McDLT. Whose old enough to remember that one?

I used to work there as a hs job (see avatar). I hadn't eaten there for over 5 years before the job and now eat there only ever so often. If you are selective with what you eat from there it can be not too terrible. I normally go for a side salad with a mcchicken patty on top and the occasional French fries or cheeseburger. I think overall the menu is extremely overpriced and getting more expensive with less and less dollar items available (at least in my area).

Also when traveling this summer I hit a few different mcds in Europe (student budget ftl) and the quality was the same or lesser of the restaurants here in the states I thought. Although they did have some interesting sauces on the burgers and mcflurry flavors. Also each country had its own unique coffee bar that we don't have anywhere in the states

Overall, in moderation McDonald's won't kill you.

I agree. I'm in good shape and look after myself - for me it's a throwback and a useful memento from home.

The food is shit and the service is lousy, but I have no beef with it.

I think they need to re-focus on quality if they want to save the business.

Thank you for speaking the truth. I had a professor at school try to convince us all that they were rinsing their meat in pure ammonia. The FDA has stated that Ammonium hydroxide (ammonium water) is generally safe for human consumption.
