Do you have some sort of need to twist my words around? I called it an overreaction which in no way indicates that I think states can't pass laws--it's a criticism that the law is an overreaction.

I can't quite tell if the law permits civil forfeiture (which I'm opposed to) or not but it does add it to the list of RICO crimes.

      1. Adds riot to the specified acts defined as racketeering.

      2. Stipulates an overt act is not required as proof of a riot offense.

^ I've been learning how to ask questions from the Media. I have watched the Press Briefings from the White House in hopes of honing my skill set.

Sounds like it's working. Jonathan Karl is my spirit animal.

And a follow-up, why do you feel the need to criticise a state legislature that does not affect you, Can you unequivocally state that you are not a resident of Arizona?

          what?
Soros does NOT back any of these movements?

Speak to me about these riots please!? Tell me have you been on the line? Have you been on duty where protesters have gathered? You were there for the Baltimore riots? You happen to work on dignitary details? These protesters don't get bused in? Not paid? All these protesters are locals or from afar? The protesters bring their own video crews?

I can answer those questions from a personal perspective.

Furthermore, I have been there with news cameras at the time of an incident.. really I was there before them. I learned quickly what I saw and what was reported routinely was not the same. I had full access, they had limited access. At times it could be chalked up as a different vantage point, other times it would be best to say negligent reporting.

shit went *down* in berkeley last night.

Berkeley, long a hotbed of political protest, has emerged as a flashpoint in the Trump era.

equal shared responsibility on not committing to non-violence between the left and right sides; i think.

amusing personal note: i wasn't there, i was on a date with an off-duty OPD cop, lest anyone accuse me of bias again :P

I think you have a rosey redux of the events. Reacting to violence with violence is called self-defense. There is an antagonist and a protagonist in this story from last night and you can bet your ass it wasn't the Trump supporters.

i don't think that's a sure thing at all. i'm guessing you didn't read the article i linked...

Stewart Rhodes, founder of the citizen militia group known as the Oath Keepers, said he came from Montana with about 50 others to protect Trump supporters. They were joined by bikers and others who vowed to fight members of an anti-fascist group if they crossed police barricades.

“I don’t mind hitting” the counter-demonstrators, Rhodes said. “In fact, I would kind of enjoy it.”
