    Religious Liberty Task Force?

Wtf is this?! It just sounds like some dystopian government program.

Not sure how you managed to leap to that conclusion.

While I am by no means religious, nor do I think it has a place in government. This initiative does not specify protecting any specific religion, anywhere. Sessions, a man I do not like, even mentioned this in his speech:

Three weeks ago, we obtained a jury verdict against a man who set fire to a mosque in Texas and sentenced for a man from Missouri for threatening to kill members of a mosque.
So until it's proven otherwise that this initiative is only benefiting one religion, then I think it's foolish to claim "state-sponsored" religion... If you're protecting all religion, then you are not favoring one religion.

Freedom of religious is indeed our “first freedom”—being the first listed right of our First Amendment.

      ...

Of course, this is entirely consistent with another of my favorite Jefferson quotes that you will find at his memorial just across the mall from where we are today:

"For I have sworn upon the altar of god eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." This is what our Founders believed.

They clearly recognized that an individual’s relationship to God is a natural right and precedes the existence of the state, and is not subject to state control.

      ...

I think the concern is that it seemed to only be necessary to make a division once Christians decided so.

        Hopefully it doesn't get memey.

I 100% agree that it's ridiculous that this now exists. But to call it state-sponsored religion is absurd.

It just seems to be a way for pro-lifers, anti-abortion people, and anti lgbt+ groups to have the ability to decline care, support etc.

the proof in the pudding will be seeing how this law gets enforced.
