I bought this Minichamps 1/18 model a month or so ago and have been reading up on its history ever since. I've learned a lot and found some interesting pictures and videos. I just wanted to share it all so I could pass on the knowledge.. so pay attention 007. :giggle:
The BMW E30 M3 pictured above was built and campaigned by team Bigazzi out of Italy. The livery shown is what it looked liked at the 1992 Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours.. an event it won by less than one second! It just out nudged a Schnitzer backed E30 M3.
Here are the official race results/times. Note that M3's finished first, second, and third.. sweeping the podium. Talk about dominance!
I also managed to find a video of the last 5 minutes or so of the race. If you watch closely, you'll see Steve Soper driving the #5 Bigazzi M3 overtake the #3 Schnitzer car on the last lap to take the win. Pretty good stuff.
