Well guys, it may not be the "date" place much longer if Arnold has his way. In a desperate attempt to raise $$ so our wonderful CA legislature can continue to spend spend spend - he has suggested the state sell some of their facilities!! Orange Co fairgrounds, the LA coliseum & yes Alcatraz. Price tag for "the Rock" =$80 million.

I think the idea should be to sell it to the Feds, they use it to house the Gitmo terrorists when it closes. Arnold gets his cash for CA, Obama solves his problem of where to put these guys & Pelosi is happy because they are right in her back yard - it's all so "civil"!! I'll bet that would be cause for a lot of instant voter changes in San Francisco as they certainly don't want "those people" in their back yard.

You know whats funny? I have lived in the BayArea my whole life and I have yet to set foot inside Alcatraz. I should visit it soon incase they decide to do what cactusjacks1 mentioned in this post.

As far as I know, you pay money to take the tour boat over there and the price includes the tour. You can't just hitch a ride and walk around by yourself.
