In photography there are "Rules" of composition, the most common is the "Rule of Thirds" the subject is placed on lines that are "drawn at about @33.3% of the frame
This is a composition rule based on something else "Phi" (the Greek symbol for the ratio of 1.68:1) or better known as the Golden Mean.
The mean, triangles and spiral are all based on this ratio of 1.68:1.
