Those are cool spiders as long as they don't jump at me. I've had those on my dashboard before and we'd do a stare down until they jump away far enough for me to get a tissue and get them the hell out of the car.
SC*AR (Schwarz Army)
No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.
OH, I want to play...I have some similar ones, I'll post them tomorrow...funny, I thought the 1st one WAS my photo...
Suggestion, crank the aperture down, get better DOF. I usually shoot macros around f/22.
there is little cranking to be done, here. the lens i was using does not have an aperture ring, which means changing the aperture is done by sticking something in between the spring loaded aperture adjuster thing, in this case a few staples.
also, these spiders are alive, so its not like you can just set up a tripod and make all the adjustments at your leisure and use a long exposure. basically, you hopes they sit still, then you move the lens to about an inch away from them and shoot as many shots as you can, moving millimeter by millimeter forward or backward in hopes to get that sliver of focus over their eyes.
all in all it was a ton of fun. i felt like a hacker photog. i'd like to shoot some non-alive objects with a tripod sometime.
