Hopefully it does. They used my bone stock E30 M3 for exhaust sounds for the street car. Recorded at a dyno shop in Redmond, WA. They spent about 5 hours with the car running it on the dyno and varying the placement of mics between runs.

5 or 6 mics around the engine bay:

Not quite true. There is a FOV trick to move the camera placement back, but it seems to only work on certain TVs. If you want to at least try it, here's the quote of the guide (All credit to DethTrasher of Forzacentral.com)

as you can see default is crappy as you cant see the side mirror and only a part of the rear view mirror, 62 degrees is pretty much perfect and 90 is way too far (you can see end of arms), also the intro to race cam is further back

                default:

                  interesting.

in other news, a tuned veyron with proper gearing will do 0-60 in 1.869 seconds.

                    In even more interesting news,

                    a Datsun 510 can do 234 MPH.

                    and man is it scary.

Wow really? So the M3 in Forza is basically your m3? Did they use your car for the body of the car too? Wow that is too cool, so did they pay you or give you the game? Are you in the credits?
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

The car was used just for audio, not sure how they modeled the graphics. They also recorded the door slamming, and the horn honk.

It was originally recorded for use in Forza 2, but I understand the E30 M3 did not make it in that edition? I don't own the game so I never knew if it showed up.

I was supposed to get a free game, but it has not showed up in the mail yet. There was no monetary payment, but I knew that going in. They told me that they had recorded about 100 cars for the game at that dyno shop. They did a couple per week they said. They had me sign a confidentiality agreement that I couldn't talk about it until after the game came out. I guess they didn't want other game developers to know what cars they would be coming out with. Whatever.

I understand buried way deep in the game are credits. Rather than list my name, I asked them to list my son's name (Devin Richert) as I thought he'd enjoy seeing his name at the back of the video game.

I don't have the game so if someone can review the credits I've wondered if Devin Richert really did show up. LOL.

                        cheers,
                        Lance Richert '88 M3, #35 PRO3, i3 etc.

the e30 m3 was made available in forza 2 after the game's release in a downloadable content pack with a few other cars.

i looked at the credits, and his name is listed under "special thanks to the car community that helped make this possible".

Iw as just playing my friends copy. Damn, ferrari's sound SO good in that game. Well... in real life too. I just don't get the chance to hear them at 7 grand going through town.

I know someone who is creating a Spec Miata Series on forza 3. he has about 20 people interested so far. it got me thinking although there is no 325's in Forza maybe we could create a spec e30 m3 race. would anyone be interested? we could make it so you can only mod suspension components with sport tires or something like that.
