Well, that's the point! Trust me, it's not a photo. I worked on this over the course of three months. All by hand! All Vector!

thats pretty sweet man, I know it took you awhile but have you ever considered doing that as a profession? I have a friend who just got a job with http://www.zerofractal.com/ and I don't think he could do anything close to that as of now.

Does Corel have an "auto trace" feature?

Corel has what's called "Power Trace". I used it for the road surface. Please don't think I sat there and traced each spec of the road surface by hand! ;) No way in hell, I'm that good. I can't imagine how to create that from scratch in vector. I assure you though, the rest was done by hand including the sky.

Back in the old days (late 80's early 90's), Corel and Adobe (Corel DRAW & Illustrator) were arch rivals of each other. Long story short, Adobe's marketing made them what they are today. Corel missed the boat and fell by the way side. Don't let Adobe's market dominance fool you.
