Slight image modification requested

Can someone change the black background of this image to that it's transparent, so when I use it as an avatar or something, the black doesn't show up? Just the outer back part please, not the black parts within the design itself. I just plain don't know how to do it. Also, please don't resize it.

Thanks for doing those, guys. I like Nando's better as an avatar, those light beams in the back didn't look right so small, but I'm going to use the one Trent did for something else.

Nando, any chance of getting a thick black border around the oustide edges of the design, in the avatar size? The color of the outer edge kind of gets lost on the grey background of the forum.

Here's a slightly cleaner version..I basically just fixed the thing with the white dots between the border and design. Could have been done a different way to look more exact, but this was a quickie job and looks OK IMO.
