My thoughts, he had the stock rear wheels for his drift tires and new wheels up front. Was definitely interesting to watch haha.

doesn't quattro let you program the power-transfer? i think rs4's have that control stock.

nope, it uses a torsen center diff. "50:50 'default' split, automatically apportioning up to 75% of torque transfer to either front or rear axle" thats for the B5's at least. Newer audi's use even more efficient differentials.

Then only Audi's who's split-torque you can "program" is the TT since it uses a haldex differential.....

lol, yeah I'm sure they RWD converted that stock looking B5 to take it to drift events, and weren't just playing around with the ebrake.

I was going to make a sarcastic comment about "dirfting" too but that's too much for one post.

Definitely know im bringing this back up from the dead, but they did convert a stock looking b5 a4 into a RWD constant. It's the tyrolsport car. I recently came over from the B5 a4 scene so know a lot about that specific car

here's the build thread regarding the conversion and motor build

                      and a vid

and the b5 does use a torsen diff but its not a 50/50 split, its a 1:2 ratio meaning its a constant 33/66 split between the front and rear

Nope! it does use a 2:1 ratio. but has a 50/50 split by default until it senses a slip, then (and depending on conditions) it can split torque up to 33/66 to either front or rear axle.
you can change a couple washers in the diff which will up the ratio to 4:1, allowing it to send up to 80% of the torque to the front or rear.

It wasnt untill the B7 (quattro gen V) that the default split was set to 40:60 f/r respectively....

Ah I did not know that. I thought it was a 1:2 constant split because the way they market the washers for the center diff, makes it sound like its a constant 1:4 split.

                          good to know though.
