i want that 85. my 50 1.4 isn't cutting it anymore for portraits. but then i remember how i also want the 70-200 and should probably put the money toward an 85 toward a 70-200 instead.
yeah that wide aperture will be sure to put everything into focus

I used to have the 50 1.4, its a great lens, maybe better then the 85. Either way the 85 is alot less useful then the 50. For me the 85 is pretty much a portrait only lens. So unless portraiture is your thing, stick with the 50 (i wish i could have both)
A 70-200 is a great lens. Really expensive though, unless your shooting sports or something else where you dont have time to change lenses or your shooting lots of candids its kinda not worth it. I have a tokina 50-135 2.8 to KINDA do the 70-200's job but for cheaper becuase most of my shots are setup and im not in a hurry to change focal lengths. Plus primes put zoom lenses to shame in terms of speed/distortions,light weight, and sharpness.Comment

it's not a bad picture, don't get me wrong. I just think a different DOF would've made the picture more apealing in my mind. There's a sweet spot and I think a wider apeture could've achieved that. Just my opinion..Comment
