But now, if they mated two M50s, that would be even better. The V12 is a good match for the heavy two-tons 850. You need train-like torque to move a train-like heavy car.

If I remember, only the rare 850CSi (basically an ///M8) had a 6 speed manual tranny, plus more power, plus beter aerodynamic. The slushbox of all the ther models is the only put-off... Yurk.

No ...... This engine is all aluminum. Dont compare it to a m20 iron block/aluminum head engine, two totally different worlds my friend.

I will be building an 840 with an s62 and 6spd for my dad when I can save some more money. It will be carbon black and run either a square set of 18 x 9.5 e39 M5 wheels, or M-Parallels. :nice:

One of the nicest ones around:

The operating cost is quite high, i did all the maintenance on mine and for what i spent i could have bought acouple of nice E30s. I ended up selling though and just picked up an e30 to keep on tinkering. will post up a build thread soon.

A good friend once had a 850il, loved that car. Pretty damn fast too, too bad it got r3v'd in Huntington. It was a sexy beast of a car.

Yeah, I can realistically see myself owning a 840 at some point down the line.
V12's can be overkill sometimes, already pretty powerful with the v8. csi would be amazing.

I wouldnt mind having a 840ci. Stay away from the 850's though, you over heat that bastard one time and ..........bye bye engine. And dont try to fix an overheated 12 cylinder BMW motor.:tsk:

An 850 is a supercar. One doesn't buy a supercar on mpg ;-)

all i'm saying is i would love this car with a modern, more efficient motor. the thought of maintaining and paying for fuel for an 850csi makes me shudder.
