The link said it no longer had seatbelts or airbags... That is the end result of he s62 swap posted earlier. That car is so beautiful.

Looks like it has Vaders? I wonder what they did for a solution to the seatbelts (regular E31s have them built into the seat)...

My buddy has a 850i auto but I still think its really sick. I drove it a few times and u can def feel the weight of the car while driving it but once it gets goin its so fast any way he's selling it it now im not sure for how much but im sure he's gonna let it go for cheap

But now, if they mated two M50s, that would be even better. The V12 is a good match for the heavy two-tons 850. You need train-like torque to move a train-like heavy car.

If I remember, only the rare 850CSi (basically an ///M8) had a 6 speed manual tranny, plus more power, plus beter aerodynamic. The slushbox of all the ther models is the only put-off... Yurk.

I've driven two E31's with 6 speed manuals, one was a black 850i and I think the other was a Japanese imported 840i iirc. Most are definitely autotragics though.

yep. my brother works in a bmw speciality shop. (einstein's bmw) and they had an 850csi in the shop for about 2 years. progress was slow to fix it, because it was so expensive and the owner kept running out of money. the electrical system is complete garbage.

they started failing A MONTH after they went for sale.

i LOVE the way they looked. toyed with buying one before i got my rx8. but... the weight and the shitty electrical system steered me clear. electrical gremlins are the LAST thing i want to chase down.

i can get my mitts on the 5.3 vortech gm motor for 200 bucks. i would probably supercharge it and drop it in (wouldnt be easy by any means)

if i had more$$ than that, maybe even an LS3.

I mean, really. Three ECUs? They had to throw in two I6 computers and then toss another on top to keep them working together? Talk about stupid. Not to mention all the parts that are bulletproof in other cars but fail in the 8 regularly. (I used to hear a lot of talk about ABS pumps...)
