I blacked out the hood on my first e30. Only cause the paint was starting to peel. Looking back i shound of just left it with peeling paint.

Shouldve went gloss instead of flat. Kinda looks like a chalkboard like that. No offense

I like the flat, cause with gloss it just looks like you took a black hood off of another car and stuck on it. Although a matte would of been good too.

a friend of mine kissed a pole in his lagunengrun, bought a lachs parts car. he painted the hood flat black. it looked better than lachs.

            not as good as lagunengrun.

Before I got a newer hood I bombed mine flat black. There was damage and it hid it better black. I actually grew to like it a bit.

99% of the time this looks really bad and cheap.
Sometimes a very agressive "fuh race" e30 can pull it off..
But a body colored hood will always looks better no matter what.

I say this really only works for red/blue/white cars... I can't see this looking good on a silver or green car.
an extremely pugnacious, snarly little bastard of a car.

I agree, especially the cheap rattle can paint jobs that fade in a month. I body worked and primed mine then shot it with chassis black. I'll leave it like this until I decide on what color to paint the car.

Eh I wouldn't paint my stock hood, just look for a black one or get one of those CF/FRP ones.
