Blacked Out Hoods

Before I got a newer hood I bombed mine flat black. There was damage and it hid it better black. I actually grew to like it a bit.

about to do this once it stops raining. same color combo as you. hope it turns out similar. I want flat. i can see the dent in yours, no offense on the drivers side but im sure it helps.

My hood had a REALLY REALLY bad Macco or whatever paintjob(paint flaking 3 layers, counted the etching primer xD). They only shot the hood and roof for some reason.

So I blocked it with 90grit down to OEM then removed the clear they left on. removed the dents and rust to bare metal. Smoothed it out and shot a coat of primer. Then 4 coats of black caulk board paint over the taped up Iron Cross that continues into the fender. I have not had time to outline it yet...so pretend it has outlining xD

Looks a million times better than a peeling flaked hood that spanned 3/4 of it. I am respraying it later next year when I get the time to do the rest of the body and paint it.

black hood on my drift car, when i got the car it needed a new hood, i just happened to find a black one and liked it, so when i painted the car i left it black

You should be a detective ;) and no by the looks of the empty bay you can see that it is not running =)
In due time, I have plenty to do till a engine is needed in there.

it's not easy to tell, but this hood is "blacked out".

You shoulda blacked out your grills and left the hood alone
