Just go for it. No matter how many time you photoshop it you'll never now until you try it! And like you said you can always just strip it off! I just stripped like 5 layers of paint off my wheels from trying so many different things haha

If you like it, sure go and run it. However my opinion is that wheels should only come in flavors of silvers or greys.

Honestly it was a spur of the moment color choice. I need a new color tired of this one. Was thinking of like a Tiffany blue, but I don't think it will look right.
