    M20 - dry-sumped, ITB's .... in a Commodore?!

Just saw this on SpeedHunters... thought it looked like an M20 and sure enough!

Each time I look through the cars and builds that have rolled through our #FeatureThis program, I am more and more amazed. It's a true global pool of amazing machinery, and after looking at the submissions I always end up with a huge smile on my face. Cars like this 1969 Opel Commodore are very much a reason for that smile.

Just read that and came to up it. I got beat. It's pretty insane, but they guys from that part of the world are known for being a bit nutty.

I'm curious about oiling with the engine at that angle.

All that work....all that work for an engine with a timing belt.....and there's obviously room for something better.

With all the modding geniuses why hasn't someone converted the belt to a chain or something stronger than rubber cause that sounds cheaper than a full motor swap. Or am i speaking from la-la land and what im saying is way too difficult?

Well, belts are smoother than chains. If you expect to do lots of maintenance/other work, a belt is no deterrent.

I just hate that feeling in the back of my head that A) the belt breaking will grenade the engine, B) on my way to buy the belt it will grenade, C) I fuck something up dicking around changing the belt, D) I'm not going to find time to change the belt and it will grenade the engine.

That dry sump set up looks sweet, bet it cost some bucks too. One can really drop a motor down to lower CG with that configuration.
