I want an FJ40 so badly!
My father had one ~10 years ago, wish we never sold it.

It'd be a perfect winter mobile.

My stepdad had a badass hard-top one when I was a kid, with a Chevy 350 in it. We used to take it out on the sand dunes in Arizona.

Few things are more fun when you're 6 years old than flying of a sand dune at 70mph in a LandCruiser.

        nice cruser
one of these days i want to build a cruser with a 3.4, six speed out of a new tacoma, dual t-cases and 80 axles (locked of course).
that or just fix my ring and pinion.

Hmm, thats actually a pretty cool idea, I know of a few '40s with toyota minitruck running gear (22re, duals, axles..) and a few minitrucks with the 3.4 but I've never seen a cruiser with the 3.4. Never even really thought about it.

I hate the fact that I have a carb'ed 350 in it, its the only thing that has actually given me any trouble. I'll prolly end up with a tbi 350 when this thing finally dies I guess.

Anyway, I know I wouldn't want to fly off of a sand dune at 70 in this thing LMFAO. I doubt I'd live to talk about it. Crawlin rocks is fun though.

They're really not a great winter rig either cause of the many places they tend to leak and the fact that a short wb+locked rear end is not idea in really bad weather. A nice stockish rig could be cool though.

I'm a big fan of the 3.4 I think its the best choice for any yota. has plenty of power and reliability. I have floged my tacoma for 200,000 miles and the motor still pulls like the day it left the factory.
before I picked up my e30 I was toying with the idea of getting an 85 4runner and pulling the 3.4 out of my tacoma to put in that. then stuffing a 2jz with like 500 hp into my tacoma. then I started looking adding up what it would cost, then gas started going up, then I bought an e30.

I'm sure not many people have them there, so they have something going for them at least.
here trucks like that are a dime a dozen and people like this winner drive them. and tastefully modified BMWs are rare.
                      want to trade?

ah well cultural differences I supppose.

I am american, and know that people like the one pictured ussually drive lifted trucks- in the midwest of the FORD variety.
here in germany, BMWs are a dime a dozen, and unfortunately are like driving a cavalier in the U.S.A.
the reason I have a couple of BMWs and my truck.

a lot of people around here look like that but its hard to distinguish which ones are driving lifted american trucks and which ones are driving lowered american trucks.
I'd say I see more chevys for sure though.
I'm not defending trucks with 8 inches of lift and 49in tires, those are more pointless than lowered trucks, I will concede to that.
I'm into fourwheeling, thats what I have built my tacoma to do, and thats what it was designed to do.

Come onn, the only difference is the r&p and width, they're tempting, you get more clearance and width for little/no difference in strength. I'd like some fj62 axles in my cruiser too though for the extra width.

I'm a billy? I don't know what that means but this post was simply a joke because people were arguing about how trucks are "supposed" to be modified.
