    What effect is this?

    Does anyone know why these pictures look like this? Is it a photoshop effect, or a camera setting?

        Are you sure there isn't something else going on in those pictures? I think its the same filter that vlad used on his engine bay pictures. Here is one of his pics.

          looks like levels adjustment and a sharpness increase to me. basic photo editing tools.. unless you are talking about the cheesy lense flares in the first pic?

            It might be a tiny bit of a effect getting known as HDR. But what makes thoese pics sexy is the lighting. Someone took their time to light it.

              That is is not HDR, no way.

              Looks like lens flare filter. Also, there is a program out there that adds those light sources to emphasise "shine"...

              http://www.alienskin.com/xx2/xx2_filters.html Called "constellation." Lots of programs out there that add new filters to Photoshop.

              EDTI: As far as the lighting in the pictures of the car (not the one with Optimus Prime lol) that looks like some dodge/burn stuff and blur...Again could be some mixture of filters that takes time to find...
